Pure Spa

Whenever I'm in Nanaimo I go to this spa. Great prices and staff! Not super fancy but sweet people.

We got gifted a couples' massage for Christmas. It was probably the worst massage we've had. The oil used was gritty and got EVERYWHERE- obviously not terribly high quality. The girls were nice but clearly inexperienced. Our muscles were not worked in the slightest, just lightly touched with oil and scratched by their nails (unintentionally). We were never asked how we like to be massaged or whether the pressure was okay. The whole experience was unprofessional as well, as we had to stand there for an extra ten minutes afterwards while they complained about why the employee who wrote up the original gift card used a certain method, and discussed how they should process it into their system, though it was paid in full and had nothing to do with us. They offered us "complementary water" as an attempt at spa-like service. They had many outdated things as well, such as a CD player that kept skipping the whole time during our massage (not that hard to invest in an ipod) which took away from the experience. Would only recommend for a cheap pedicure.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent service! And the perk of being able to have a tasty beverage from the bar below is a bonus!
