Fantastic service and food. Our host/waiter recommended the okra straws as a starter and they did not disappoint. Best butter chicken I’ve ever had - chicken we not dry and the sauce was perfect. The vegetable curry was perfectly seasoned as well. When we get back tonToronto we will definitely return here for dinner.
This was our second time at pukka, I must say yet again it was brilliant. We tried the fish curry, lamb chops that were new to us from last time and a repeat of the fried okra and chaat. The host is amazing, the food is brilliant and the consistency in taste is what I look forward to in places you wanna visit without thinking twice! Highly recommend trying. For a party of two I would suggest getting like 1 appetizer 1 side 1 curry anything more would be too much but then it’s also that place where you would just love to have left overs from so May be don’t listen to me
Quite disappointing. Definitely not authentic Indian food and was severely overpriced although the portions were huge. Felt more like a wine bar that served Indian inspired food. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy at all and the butter chicken was very sweet. However the naan was incredible!!! Crispy and flavourful. The sweet potato samosa shouldn't be on the menu. It had no seasoning just mashed sweet potato in a samosa.
3.5/5 Bread basket: 5/5 loved the 3 kinds of bread, my friend enjoyed how she got to try the variety of breads, the naan was our favorite, especially for dipping into the butter chicken sauce Butter chicken: the sauce was creamy and flavorful however the succulent chicken pieces lacking seasoning and that affected brought the dish to a 3/5 Chicken 65: this was our second favorite dish, the sour and sweet seasoning was perfect and the portion was very generous which makes it kind of weird as an appetizer, so we requested to have it served with our mains. We actually ended up dipping this into the butter chicken sauce and it was DIVINE! 4.5/5 Pukka chat: I was very excited to try their special chat but unfortunately it didn't quite meet my expectations, specifically because the sour ingredients in the dish overpowered all the other flavors and lack of sweetness and rice puffs in ratio didn't help the dish. 2/5 I wish the chef could make the butter chicken with chicken 65 in it
I don't leave alot of reviews, but had such a great experience I felt compelled to! The food was delicious and our servers were so sweet and attentive. Thanks for a great date night and well prepared, tasty dishes.
Such a good dinner spot. Has definitely reached one of my favourite, for sure. We got the Chicken 65 because everyone said it was good and it definitely did not disappoint. Butter Chicken was my favourite, the sauce was just TOO frickin good. Stuffed Paneer, Chicken Tikka and of course, garlic naan. There was 6 of us and we ordered 3 rice, and we all shared the food. Good service, great atmosphere and please do a reso!! It is just safer to do so as it is a busy area in the city.
Fantastic Indian food. An amazing place that you can sit and have a great dinner with family, friends, or on a date. Each dish has a unique flavour profile, with the fish curry more light and coconut based and the lamb curry complimenting the medallions beautifully. Get the Chaat, it’s a perfect way to start. A regular for when we feel like a curry!
This restaurant definitely lives up to its reviews and reputation. Food was delicious, we had butter chicken, chicken 65, garlic naan and rice. The food was enough to fill two adults and still had left overs. Chicken 65 was our favourite. Service was quick and friendly. Interior is nice. Parking available on the street or a bit further down the street opposite side there is a green p lot.
Went to Pukka for date night. They had an extensive wine and cocktail menu although we didn’t sample much alcohol while there, the food was really good and the portions were quite large and filling. Tried the eggplant tartare which was a delicious vegetarian option to tartare. Had the coconut based prawns and cod curry with the garlic naan, which was also great. I really enjoyed their chai and sticky toffee dessert. This is a must go if you’re in the area. The space isn’t too large, and I was still able to hear everything my partner was saying across the table. The servers were also attentive and the food was prepared quickly.
I went to Pukka with for dinner with my work group. Their service, presentation, ambiance and taste was satisfying. The portions are decent size. Lassi was very good. Stuffed paneer was good too. However, paneer got a bit rubbery by the time we got to the last bite. Sorry, have to be a bit picky considering the price. But our group enjoyed the overall experience. I will consider coming back.
