Went there at 9:50am was told at 10am that they’d open in 10 minutes. There was a ton of boxes and so a few of us waiting took it upon ourselves to help and take the empty boxes in. Only to be screamed at by the guy who runs this joint!! Screaming about Covid and how almost everyone working there has gotten it in the last 5 weeks. All we were doing was trying to help him. I didn’t drive 25 miles to get there, help and then get screamed at for helping!!! So, if you want to be treated like a second class citizen, feel free to go here. If you want to be treated like an actual human being, i recommend finding somewhere with more understanding and compassion workers.
I appreciate all the effort that the people who put this event on. And so very much am thankful for the food.
Good food and friendly staff very understanding but the People waiting for buses judge you for needing help based on the vehicle you drive
They are respectful and always helpful. They are so nice. And they give you a lot of food specially when you catch them with the food truck day. I just went with the food truck and they gave me so many good food meat and all and even so higene stuff too
Chris is who runs the organization and does it with professional attitude. He's really a nice man.
I never visited the food pantry I was next door at the resale shop but I'm sure the food pantry is a fine place
Very helpful volunteers
I am glad that our community has a helping hand. I'm sure it will help more families here. The new location is very nice, easier access, lots of helping hands. The afternoon hours on Thursdays , 4 to 6 is really nice!!! Thank you!!!
The gentleman who was in charge was very kind and helpful.
First of all, concerning the move - everyone was given two months notice and it was in the paper three different times. We didn't WANT to move to the other side of Houghton Lake but we had to move out of the basement, away from stairs, and that was the only place we could find after searching for six months. Next, if the VOLUNTEERS didn't want to be there, they wouldn't show up. NOBODY is paid to operate the food pantry, we are all volunteers. I have never seen any volunteer treat a client like a peasant!
