About Princesa Gold Jewellers
Priceless Quality And Unique Jewellery For That Special Gift

First established in March 2004 as Princesa Gold Jewellers in a small shop in the Chezzetcook area along the Eastern Shore, now this young vibrant company operates in a new and bigger location at 169 Main Street Mall, Unit #2 across from the Dairy Queen Restaurant in Dartmouth, NS, with the same excellent reputation of manufacturing high quality Custom Designs Jewellery and Professional Repairs.

Led by Joel Hernandez, who formally studied the goldsmith art from 1982 to 1985, including two years of apprenticeship, at the renowned school “Cooperativa de Joyeros y Relojeros de El Salvador” in Central America, where the jewellery techniques were inherited from the ancient culture of the Aztec, Mayas and other native groups. In 1988 Joel worked for Zocalo jewellery in Mexico City. Before founding his business, Joel worked for local shops in Metro Halifax since 1989, and later became independent after a long stay at The Time Shop jewellery.

Joel is a member of the Metal Art Guild of Nova Scotia, and has won the following awards and recognitions:

Joel and his wife are excellent at what they do. 5 stars doesn’t justify how impressed I am with the quality of work they produce. I will not go to anyone else to get any of my jewelry fixed, made or replaced. I went in with a ring that was my great grandfathers and had been sitting in a box since approximately 1962. He had tried to sauder it back together and it was just a mess. They completely overhauled it and built it back up to its original glory. Thank you to princesa gold I am very pleased.
Hi everyone As you can see below, my engagement ring is different, my fiancé and I could not find a band to match anywhere. I had gone to Princesa Gold multiple times to have rings redesigned, ie. changed from yellow to white gold, having to wedding bands put together as one and so on. I knew Princesa gold was the places to go in Dartmouth on Main St. Joel and his wife are so friendly and personable, great people to deal with. While I was there to pick up my beautiful band, I had the chance to chat with Joel and found out a little of his history. Joel was 13 years old when he started in the jewelry business, the talent this man has is amazing. Marta, his wife is such a lovely lady, and a great person to share your ideas with regarding repairs or changes to the piece you may have. She will share her ideas as well to help you come up with what you want. There is nothing Joel can't do with gold or silver etc. The band Joel made for me would be double the cost at any jewelry store. Take a peak at my photos below, you will see what I mean. My grandma and I came here to have old family jewelry fashioned into a custom 'X' bracelet for my university graduation. The consultation, fitting, and final product were all amazing! The bracelet was a hit the night-of and continues to be a conversation piece, with everyone praising the craftsmanship involved. He custom made 5 beautiful pendants for my daughters and I from the gold and stones of my other jewellery, My husband had passed away and this jeweller designed and created these beautiful pendants. This place is the BEST!!!! They're the absolute nicest people to deal with. I had a ring stuck on my finger for over a decade, and he got that ring off my finger in 1 second after I've tried for 10 years! Once the ring was off, he fixed, sized & cleaned it. Was ready within 1 week and was shocked at how little it cost to have done. Absolutely recommend them

This place is such a hidden gem. I wanted my ring polished, i checked with charm they told me it would be sent off site and be ready in a week. I stopped in princesa to see what they could do and they did it right then and there. This is the third time time I've been in and every time has been an amazing experience like this. My wife was so upset when the clasp of her favourite necklace was damaged. We went in to Princesa Gold Jewellers and they were so kind and helpful. They took it back to the jeweller to look at in and in a minute it was fixed. They didn't charge us anything for it. I will be bringing my engagement ring in for repairs later since they have proved themselves so kind.
Always helpful and very reasonably priced. So friendly and accommodating. Will be back
