I wanted to love Prairie Dog Brewing because the venue itself is awesome, but the food and our specific service left a bit to be desired.nThe Food Experience:**nWe went all out and ordered The Full Pit platter for $99 to try a bit of everything. It comes out as a giant tray loaded with ribs, brisket, smoked sausage, pulled pork, fried chicken, fries, cornbread, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. The portions are absolutely huge, and it looks incredible when it hits the table.nUnfortunately, the flavors and textures just didn't live up to the hundred-dollar price tag. Almost everything on the tray was incredibly over-seasoned and way too salty for our taste. On top of that, the smoked meats and fried chicken were quite dry, making it a very heavy meal that was difficult to finish.nThe Service & Environment:nThe service was a bit of a mixed bag. Our main table server wasn't very friendly or welcoming at all, which was disappointing maybe because we didn’t order beers!!! However, the rest of the staff we interacted with were much better, the host at the front door who welcomed us and a girl working behind the bar were both super nice and polite. The brewpub itself has a great, spacious atmosphere.
My brother decided to treat us for dinner and he has consistently brought this place up as one of his favourite places. I don’t drink a lot of beer and neither does my wife but tonight I decidedn” why not”!nI ordered a the stout and it was honestly one of the best stouts I’ve had to date. When we decided to order food, literally everything on the menu looked fantastic! We started with the fried cheese curds as for how they were, pretty self explanatory haha. I ordered the sampler which I chose: brisket, andouille sausage , and cornbread. My brother ordered the Mac and Cheese, and my wife got the pulled pork sandwich!nThe sausage was the best andouille sausage I’ve ever had hands down, the brisket was great, a tad dry but when paired with the sauces it was perfect. The cornbread was also very proper! I was also fortunate enough to get to try a bite of the pulled pork sandwich, it was messy in a good way but absolutely fantastic! The coleslaw that came on it was the chefs kiss!nnAll of this and two drinks per person ended up being around 130 ish! Very reasonable considering we were content when we left, I will definitely be returning very soon!nnShout out to our server Elouise and the manager too, I didn’t get his name but they both did a great job making our first visit a great one !nn10/10!
Food is pretty good along with the service. Thought the bbq would be a bit better! Very nice size inside and full patio outside.
My favourite BBQ place in the city. Amazing food and a great value. Fun options for drinks too! Service is always good and the atmosphere is fun whether you’re going for lunch or a night out.
We have heard good things about Prairie Dog and happened to be going by so decided to stop for lunch. It was a nice warm day and decided to sit on the patio. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the patio was and we could have our dog join us. The food was tasty and service was very good
