I enjoy this place a good lot. It got big TVs to watch the game, nice outdoor patio spot for summer days, and a pretty chill vibe.nThe service here is friendly and they’re come by to refill drinks frequently so no complaints on my endnThe food is great. Their BBQ meats and sauces are fantastic I like them a lot. My only two complaints are with the pretzel bites and the Mac and cheese, I don’t know if it was just a off day but the pretzel bites even when used with their beer cheese sauce it just wasn’t packing a whole lot of flavour and same goes for the mac and cheese. The cheese sauce for the Mac and Cheese was a good consistency and covered the noodles just didn’t have any real flavour to it. Like I said could’ve just been a off night for them. Everything else we had was great I’m a big fan on how they cook their bbq and serve it to you. I recommend giving it a shot
We had a fantastic lunch at Prairie Dog earlier this week. I first heard about Prairie Dog Brewing's food allergy protocols through a food allergy Facebook group. Several members of our family manage anaphylactic food allergies so it can be challenging to eat in restaurants. We were thrilled to be able to have a safe and delicious lunch here.nnThe week before our visit, I contacted the brewery about our food allergies. The founder emailed me back within a day, providing very specific guidance on what would be safe for us after she confirmed it with the chef. I was blown away to receive such a timely and detailed response.nnFrom our first interaction with the server, I had great confidence that our family would be able to eat safely here. As soon as I told her about our allergies, she was extremely knowledgeable and helped us navigate which dishes and sides would be safe for us, checking and double checking ingredients. Because of her assistance and communication with the kitchen, we were actually able to order the full pit with a few substitutions.nnWe truly appreciated the allergy-aware policies and the kitchen's attention to our meal, which I understand involved fresh cutting boards and opening new containers of BBQ sauce, amongst other things. The brisket, chicken, ribs, and sausage were delicious, juicy, and smoky. Each had their distinct flavour and nothing was covered up with excessive amounts of sauce something we've noticed other BBQ restaurants do. We particularly loved the pulled pork, mustard-based BBQ sauce, and especially the pickled veggies.nnIt did take a while to get our meal, but we expected this because of the additional steps taken to prevent cross contact with our meal prep in the kitchen. We enjoyed looking at the funky cow paintings while we waited and the chef even showed us the pit! We grabbed a few beers to take home. It would be great to see a mix-and-match 4 pack option in the future.nnWe appreciated the family friendly aspects of the brewery too. In our past life read: before kids, we regularly visited microbreweries and made a point to seek out new ones whenever we were travelling. It was nice to be in a space where we could do that and bring along the little ones too.nnWe're looking forward to eating here again!
Great beer , the Mojito Beer was the best. The food was average; I did not like the Mac and Cheese. However, the Extreme Poutine was great. Most of the meats were too salty for my taste.
The nachos had their in house smoked cheddar cheese- a must try. The platter was the best thing we could’ve ordered. As someone who is particular with BBQ- this place really hits the spot! Amazing food, witty server Dalton, great music entertainment- what’s better than that!
I love Prairie Dog, have been coming for a couple years now. They are so amazing when it comes to allergies - I always ordered their classic Mac & Cheese but noticed that they recently changed the menu so it now contains egg - however the amazing service and kitchen staff made me a special egg-free version with handmade cheese sauce on the spot - so delicious! Shout out to Nadia and our waitress - made my night! The staff make the experience that much more enjoyable, just a perfect place for beer and some comfort food!
