Came here for a nice family lunch. I want to preface this by saying I am not Portugese but everyone else was. To me the food was great, I had the steak with chips and an egg, done medium rare. The steak was cooked right, but had a bit of a boiled taste. This could be because they have the steak sit in a gravy. If you have extra calories for the week this is the place to splurge.
Celebrated a first communion here and the service was amazing, the food was unbelievably delicious and the amount of food was shocking everyone left super full. Very greatful they were able to accommodate our party on such short notice. Will definitely be going back for many years to come
We went as a group of 14 and had made reservations a week prior. It took over 2 hours for our food to be served and most dishes were extremely over cooked. I don't understand how a salad takes 2 hours to be served. First and last time for all of us. No discounts on the over cooked dry meals were given only apologies from the waitress from the owner who didn't bother to come himself to apologize.
Delicious food, big portions, fair prices and friendly staff.... definitely a great staff. You gotta be a little patient when the house is busy.... just enjoy some drinks, their nice basket of bread and maybe a little appetizer - the food is worth the wait!
Best patio on St.Clair for people watching. Amazing food. Cold beer and sizzling carne! Soups and salads are very fresh. Everything is made with love. Even the potatoes chips are made to order and are hot and salty when they arrive at the table. Great place to spend a whole afternoon snacking, drinking and socializing.
Food took an hour and a half and it was one of the driest chickens i've ever had. My wifes steak was very overcooked. service was friendly but hard to understand. the appetizers were very good but over all a bad experience. They did agree to take off my wifes steak as well as other plates our table had gotten that were very bad.
Made reservations and visited tonight with a group of 14, not 1 enjoyed their meal. After ordering we waiting 1 hour and 50 minutes for our food. What we got was an assortment of over cooked meals. When I say over cooked I mean the pork was jerky status!! Others had the steak which looked at though it had been microwaved and tasted freezer burned. The salad was drowned in vinegar and the clams were cold with a gelatine like sauce over them. All of our complaints were dismissed with apologies from the inattentive waitress . Needless to say I confident that no one from our group will be giving this place a 2nd chance.
Very lovely, genuine people who work there. I don't eat gluten and heavy starches, and so the owner made me a salad from raw vegetables and lettuce, and she was very nice about it. Chicken was good.
This is the worst restaurant on st. Clair west, and that's including the McDonalds. We waited over an hour and a half and when we finally told them we had it, they used the excuse of one big table ahead of us. Do yourself a favour and stay away, head over to kapitol two blocks west for better Portuguese food with half the wait or grab 241 pizza it's probably better anyway. First and last time. On a positive note we ended up having great pastries at nova era
Waited for an hour and half and the food never came. We had to leave because we couldn't take it anymore. The waitress warned us of a table of ten ahead of us, but how does that justify an hour and a half for a couple of steaks. Bairrada deals with tones of tables full of people and their food is renowned and never takes half that long. Stay away from this Porto place and take the trip down to bairrada or if you're hungry visit kapitol
