This might be my favorite hotel we've ever stayed in. Beautiful rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, great location, lovely little bar restaurant. The furniture and linens are new, the art is actually pretty nice, and the Starbucks coffee robot on our floor was a boon. The details are all very well thought out. I will note that, like every single hotel I've ever stayed in, I should've brought a power strip with a low profile plug to plug in laptop and phone charger behind furniture I'm sure they don't want me moving, since outlets are very difficult to access. I'd almost come back to this city just to stay here. Thanks!

What an HUGE disappointment. We had gone one summer for a lovely brunch the hotel seem so nice. My husband booked a weekend stay as a surprise. It was described as a deluxe view with queen deluxe bed. Apparently deluxe means next to laundry with a view in to the corner room next door. The hose for the garden was the main feature of the view. When we asked about what seemed to be a mistake we were told by the manager "Well you did book the worse room in the hotel" oh I said I did seem to miss that in your advertised description. No offer of apology other than "you can find another hotel" We did and the Marriott was 2x the size, better view and less costly. DO NOT BE DECEIVED Pretty face ugly personality

Closer to four and a half stars. The coffee service and soaking tub were great. Common areas and rooms were well decorated and furnished and the beds were comfortable. The concierge gave us a fantastic dinner recommendation Saturday night and had us seated within fifteen minutes of making the recommendation. I appreciated the abundance of complimentary newspapers and especially that the local, in addition to the USA Today, was available. I don’t believe that the valet actually has a town car available for borrowing. I called about four hours ahead of our visit and was promised that it would be at the airport to pick us up at 5:15. I called at 5:15 and was told they were sending a cab. What happened to the car, I asked? “We are busy.” I noticed as we were checking out Sunday AM that the folks ahead of us asked about the car and were told much the same thing. Not a huge deal but I was assured they could pick us up from the airport and it added a little stress to abruptly be on our own. If your room is a low number-204 or 306 or whatever—you are going to have to take something of a hike to your room. Not a huge issue.

Great location and sharp looking inside. The issue I had was with the room. It was connected directly to a common area with coffee and elevators and was also the only non carpeted area of the floor. It was consistently very loud due to it being a high traffic area. The room to the door had a large gap at the bottom which let in a surprising amount of light. Lastly, although the cleaning staff did a great job, they worked early in the am and made it very difficult to sleep both days I stayed at the hotel. In hindsight, I should have asked to move rooms.

One of the best hotels to stay in at Portland. Very nice and clean rooms. The staff is nice. Many amenities, such as Starbucks machines for coffee and hot chocolate on each floor. Location couldn't be better, being in the Old Port. 5/5.
