As an international student in Portage, I was informed of the partnership with Campbell College in Edmonton. Upon my initial visit to the Edmonton campus, I intended to enroll in the two-year Teacher Assistant program. However, after learning from several students that the program was non-credited, I decided to request a refund to avoid investing two years in a program that would not meet my academic needs. I contacted both Portage and Campbell College to process the refund, as their tuition fee return policy allows for this if the registration letter has not yet been received. But they didn't helped and made different excuses and said this non credit will help you get a Level 2 child care worker certificate and you will have a good job. They promised this in the beginning and when 2 years were done noone helped me get my completion letter on time when I was applying for my post graduate work permit and I have encountered a persistent issue with Portage and Campbell regarding the processing of my academic documentation. Despite numerous attempts to communicate via email, both parties have consistently redirected responsibility, resulting in a five-month delay in receiving my Letter of Completion LOC. Subsequently, my request for transcript submission to the Government of Alberta for a childcare license has gone unanswered. While their website indicates transcript access through MyCreds, requiring a college-provided ID, I have yet to receive any response to my inquiries. I have git an email to enroll in new 6-month course offered to Teaching Assistant TA graduates, designed to facilitate Level 2 certification. However, as a Post-Graduate Work Permit PGWP holder, my study duration is limited to 6 months. Despite receiving an offer letter for this course, it was rescinded upon disclosing my PGWP limitations, with the college stating my ineligibility. This is in contrast to my classmates, who are also PGWP holders and are currently enrolled in the program. Attempts to contact student advisors have been unsuccessful, consistently leading to voicemail, and emails to college administrators have remained unaddressed. I would not recommend this institution due to the inadequate student services provided.
I am a student of Portage College and previously studied at Campbell College. I am currently facing serious issues with my study permit, and I tried contacting Campbell College for help. I called multiple times, but my calls were either put on hold and then disconnected or not properly responded to. I sent two emails, but I did not receive any response at all. I am already under a lot of stress, and their lack of communication and support has made my situation even worse. They did not provide the necessary help or guidance when I needed it the most. I am very disappointed with the poor management and unprofessional behavior, especially in such an important matter affecting a student’s future.
I believe this college operates very poorly. I applied for the Child Care Diploma and completed the Accuplacer test afterward. However, it has been nearly impossible to contact the student advisor, Crystal Herbert. Every time I send an inquiry, I receive only an automated reply stating that she will respond within 10 business days, yet it has been over 20 business days, and I have received no response.nnWhen I called the college to ask about my application, the receptionists were unhelpful and quite rude, refusing to provide any useful information. Unfortunately, I read the reviews too late, many other students seem to have experienced the same issues. I strongly recommend avoiding this college to save your time and money
One of the better colleges to take courses related to Environment. Natural Resource Technology is an excellent course with lots to offer, instructors are full of knowledge and willing to share their wisdom. Comfortable & Friendly environment, knowledgeable instructors, and lots to offer.nnPhotos are as follows; #1: Mock spill clean up #2: Trip to Cold Lake Fish hatchery. #3: Chainsaw training.
I have been waiting on my completion letter from cambell college and they are saying portage will process it. It’s been two months no one is answering calls, registrar is not replying for the emails. This is very devastating that despite paying thousands in dollars for the fees, we still have to beg them for something that we have earned.nIt is mentally disturbing and extremely stressful.
