Local spot for pool and darts. Food is quite good for a simple bar. However, their chalkboard Chinese food menu is amazing! Atmosphere is a lot of fun, especially on a Saturday night with karaoke. Update: once a reliable place for pool during a weeknight. Used to only have league night on Wednesdays...now it seems Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are all pool league nights with no tables free.

We used to have a great time at the place and the owner who used to serve at the bar was quite friendly. However, Tina, the lady who bartends at the place now made my friends and I regret our last visit to the place. We were left entirely unattended and treated inexistant at the place. She was quite rude at all of us and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any bars in the area. Highly disappointed with what the place has turned into.

Is this place a 5 star restaurant....no,. But it is much more fun. I went with friends for my birthday. They had karaoke and we had a blast. Cheap drinks, pub food, cheap pool and karaoke on Saturday, put on some sweat pants and come on down.

The 5 stars is only for Tina she is amazing we love her! The place has bomb food and is not bad priced, the pool tables have terrible bumpers and surfaces and the cues are not good, but the staff are fantastic and it's a great local watering hole!

From the outside it looks like a plaza retail store, but from inside, it's somewhat of an oldschool pool-hall/bar. Nothing special to look at or anything, with an unimpressive atmosphere, but one of the dwindling places left to shoot some pool, and hang. They have a chinese food menu and also typical Canadian bar food as well, as I'm told the owners are Chinese themselves. The woman bartending was gruff, and gave no appearance of caring about our presence. Didn't seem like a mean lady, just not trying to impress anyone. There's 3 tables for pool, and some other seating areas. The tables are coin operated, at only $1.25 a game! That's a nice old value, but the pool cues I tested were all a little warped. There's also dart boards available. They have some weekly karaoke nights, and I'm told their busy times are late, from 11pm-1am sort or thing. There is a decent sized but plain patio area out front too. Anyway I don't see a particular reason to go here, except for proximity if you want to play some pool, or an extremely casual meetup and bite to eat. Little selection of beers/drafts, which is always disappointing, also. So if you give zero cares and just want some place to go and you're nearby... maybe check it out. Tuesdays after 5pm are wing nights, and every Saturday starting at 9pm is karaoke.

We only recently started coming here. Staff are wonderful food is great. We always have a great time.

Pops and ruby's is a cheap Chinese takeout masquerading as a bar, and that's not a bad thing. The Chinese food is classic and quite good. The beer is cold and keeps coming and the staff feel like Friends you've never met. If you are looking for a place to slow down and relax, take your time and be yourself this might just be the place. Its cozy friendly and cheap. The world has moved on and pops and ruby's hasn't and that's exactly what makes it great. I would highly recommend it, on a night where you just don't feel like cooking and want to get out of the house.

Horrible customer service. The only 1 Bartender/server at the restaurant, miss-behaves with customers. She would make faces & pass obnoxious comments each time she walked past our table. Overall, its been one of my worst experiences. This is another version of Karen's Diner chain, the only difference is that you haven't asked for it. Hope the owners do something about it. There are individuals out there who can provide good friendly professional service and will be greatfull to have this job.
