Pleasantville Community Synagogue offers Joyful Judaism to all
Joyful Judaism
Shabbat and Holiday services, led by our Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan, are held at the synagogue, located at 219 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, except High Holiday services which are held at the nearby Rosenthal JCC. Friday night Shabbat services vary each week in time and format (some for young families, some adult-oriented, some for all ages). Check our website for this week's time or get on our email list: [email protected]. Shabbat morning services are Saturday at 10:00am (B'nei Mitzvah begin at 9:30am), preceded by Meditation at 9:15am and followed by a Kiddush lunch at noon and Torah study 12:30-1:15pm.
Our Hebrew School is under the direction of Galit Sperling, who has been a bar/bat mitzvah tutor as well as a theater teacher in Westchester before joining PCS. The school is highly nurturing, dedicated to encouraging the children to feel that their synagogue community is an extension of home. The children are instructed in Jewish history, holidays, prayer, and ethics, and are exposed, as well, to the beauty and joy of our tradition through art projects and music.
Parking:
There is no parking on Bedford Road and the Synagogue does not have a parking lot. The best locations to park are:
On Ashland Avenue, which is a right turn off Bedford (approximately 100 feet before the synagogue)
On Clark Street, which is a left turn off Bedford Road (approximately 75 feet before the Synagogue);
In the Municipal Parking Lot, which is reached by proceeding on Bedford Road past the Synagogue approximately 100 yards and through a traffic light; the lot is on the left behind the stores;
On Manville Road, which is at the base of Clark Street.
