Plato's Closet® is all about being fashion savvy and shopping smart. We specialize in gently used clothes and accessories for teen and twenty something girls and guys. All stores are independently owned franchises.

At Plato's Closet® you'll find a huge selection of trendy, designer styles as well as those every day basics you can't live without - all at up to 70% off mall retail prices!

Our stores buy and sell girls sizes 0/1 to 18/20 and guys size 28 to 38 waist. The gently used clothing and accessories that we buy are: top-name brands, cool, hip, trendy, and clean. Typically we buy items that have been in the retail stores within the past 12 to 18 months.

Our process is quick and easy:

1. Go through your overflowing closet
2. Bring in your cool stuff
3. Walk out with new cool stuff or $$$ in your pocket!

Children shopping for themselves, that's the impression I got from trying to sell my goods. Oldest person working couldn't be older than 21. They tell me they're looking for teen/young adult and 80% of the shoppers 12/15 were over 65. Don't waste your time. Offered <5$ for Levi's jeans, new old stocktags still on. Fast friendly service
Despite some bad reviews for this store, my experience was very different and very pleasant . I brought some clothes to sell and girls did amazing job, from the moment i entered the store they were polite, pleasant and very helpful. I wish i could have sold more of my stuff but overall sale was very decent. I was paid and on my way with invitation to come back and bring more stuff. Definitelly satisfied customer here . Thank you girls
They desperately need to make the line a priority over taking inventory/pricing clothes. I had 2 people in front of me, both had maybe 2 items and i was waiting for about 20 minutes. Once there was only one person after me is when they decided it was a good idea to open another till.. they seem to be picky of what they take yet I am always finding damaged and stained clothes being sold by them.. they will discount the item for you love this store but it definitely has its downfalls.
If I could give zero star to the store, I will do it!!! they didn’t take my nice stuff and when I went to shop there for a white T-shirt, most of them had stains under the armpits a lot of Shain stuff you can get online for cheaper with coupons. I did like one black sweater but when I went to try it on hand very large hole and they wanted $12 for it. It’s just ridiculous. I won’t come there again for sure. I will prefer to sell my clothing on marketplace ! Value Village has better stuff than this store !
I had an overall good experience selling and buying at this location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Yes they buy your items for cheap but that is how they keep the prices at the store so low. I came here on a Friday morning and it took under an hour for them to look through my bin. I got $45 for 10 items overall happy!!
I stopped by to drop off some clothes. The person told me they'd text me when they looked at my stuff within the hour. I waited an hour and never got a text, so I came back after roasting in my car and asked. I got $4.20 for a sweater that didn't even have the brand tag on it lol but they didn't take the clothes that were new with the tags and the others saying they had worn marks...well yeah, they're used clothes. I was surprised considering the state of the store, a huge mess and some stuff was pretty rugged. I wasn't expecting much, but taking the worst item I had the not the nicer brand name stuff seemed a little silly.
I am very disappointed by this store, as I was shopping I noticed so many stains on clothing items that were priced way to high to be in the condition they were in. As well as all of the staff members were not very polite at all, young kids just there to make a paycheque seemed to me. Pushing passed customers without saying excuse me as they are trying to shop. After spending $450 at this store I was there to shop shop I noticed on my receipt none of the clearance items that were supposed to be 70% off I had got because they were so cheap, none were marked down, all regular price! I usually enjoy this location for the items I come across but I will no longer want to shop here due to my experience. Big thumbs down
I tried to sell several bins of things that do not fit me or I did not use. Including brand new things and high value items. Then I was told items were ALL ? "worn/marked" when literally nothing was. The girl who told me this rolled her eyes and looked angry/annoyed with me while saying this When I'd said nothing and did nothing but stand there I didn't try to sell anything that was not good. Very strange considering the stuff they sell is pretty low quality stuff and actually marked/worn/stained! The underage looking staff are clueless about what to buy/sell. When shopping the staff are unhelpful, rude, weirdly hostile and chaotic. As I said before the stock is cheap sh*t like Bluenotes and it is very overpriced.
I brought in 3 bags of great condition clothes even new items with tags on. I expected maybe an offer on 20% of the items I brought in but I didn’t receive on offer on anything, surprising considering a some of the items I saw on their racks. The staff seemed miserable to be there, not friendly or happy to help at all. After dropping off my items I received a text not even before I left the parking lot saying they were done going through and my order was complete. Pretty sure nothing was went through, compete waste of time. Encore was a way better consignment store to deal with.
One of my favorite thrift stores anywhere, I stop in any time I'm in town. Great selection with great prices! Hope you expand to Vancouver some day!
