Plaka Greek Taverna

Took the family out to have a celebratory dinner for two graduates. The atmosphere was definitely Greek, the food was wonderful and fresh. The house wine was fresh and crisp. The service was lovely and we never felt bothered. We had a perfect experience. I hope more people will take the time to visit and enjoy the food. Thank you to the lovely owner and her son Luca for a wonderful evening. We decimated the delicious dessert.

My husband and I ate at Plaka this evening and had an absolutely phenomenal time. The owner, Ana, was so friendly and the food was some of the best Greek food we’ve ever had and we’ve had lots!. We ordered the dinner platter for two and it was incredible. The potato was on the side so you don’t see it in my photo. Extremely generous portions, phenomenal food, great prices, huge free parking lot, wonderful ambiance, and super friendly owners. What else could anyone want?

Nestled in a tiny corner of a strip mall next to Deer Ridge in the SE is @plakagreek . Greek food that is as fresh as it is delicious. We have been many times and I always forget to post because it’s that good. We started off with saganaki fried cheese which is served to your table and lit on fire while everyone around you ooh’s and aah’s. Showy? Sure. Delicious? DEFINITELY. Crispy outside with melted gooey goodness in the center. Slice it up and put on their pita bread that’s lightly coated in olive oil and herbs. So. Damn. Good. Calamari was our other starter and they do calamari better than most. Lightly breaded cooked to perfection with a tzaztiki that is so refreshing it feels like you’re sitting beach side. Nothing worse than calamari that is overdone, chewy and coated in enough breading to mask what little calamari may be inside. Plaka nails it everytime. Next was our wraps. I had the lamb, wife and daughter had the chicken. Lamb requires very little seasoning because good lamb should shine on its own so I like when it’s not over seasoned. Plaka gets this and does it really well. Chicken does require a flavor boost in my opinion and this was seasoned really well to give the wrap a burst of flavor without taking away from all the other fresh ingredients. Each came with a Greek salad. Olive oil, herbs, lots of feta crumble and fresh tomatoes, red onion, cucumber and lettuce. Perfect. Now not only do you get delicious food, but also attentive, appreciative and friendly staff. This is a hidden gem run by some fantastic people so bring yer full wallets and yer empty gullets and have some great grub while supporting another fantastic small business.

I came here for lunch with my family the other day and we were blown away by how amazing the food was. The calamari was so crispy, the souvlakis and salad were delicious, and the salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We also tried the fried ice cream, it was a lot bigger than we expected so definitely a great value for the price. The server was also very nice to us and she seemed like she was the only worker while we were there as well, she did an amazing job. We’ll definitely be back to try the dinner menu

The food was plentyfull and delicious. The atmosphere enjoyable and our waitresses was top notch.

Food was enjoyable and the service was terrific. Homely and friendly. The two theatre drama queens that sat nearby, not next to us, insisted on performing while they talked, that is yelled most of the time. We could hear every detail of their banal conversation and mediocre "careers". Annoying. The loudmouths ruined the atmosphere but not the meal. We'll go back and will try again.

First of all the chicken we ordered came out RAW. If that wasn't bad enough, when we went to pay no one was there. I even called out to them in the kitchen and no one came out. We had to open the front doors so the bell rang to get the waitress to come out. Although she is a very nice lady, that does not excuse the service and foodFood: 1/5

My wife and I enjoyed the appetizers for 2 with drinks. Ana gave us a wonderful dessert. We will definitely make this a regular spot.

Wonderful 5 star food! We ordered the all meat platter amazing, feta la Greek like a warm tomato cheese dip, saganake, and the lemon prawns. We love the authentic taste and great service. Thank you

The dinner platter for two is both delicious and an outstanding value. You get moussaka, calamari, lamb and chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, tiropita, rice, and potatoes. Unless you brought a huge appetite, expect to take home some leftovers. Our server greeted us like we were old friends even if this was our first time to dine here. Come for the food, stay for the experience.
