Amazing, especially after a hefty hike. As mentioned in other reviews they bring their own supplies on foot. We walked for a while behind one of the staff members carrying a big backpack. Notable, she had a stronger pace then we did and when we arrived, she was already starting her shift to take our order. We enjoyed it a lot. Ps. Bring cash or an credit card 3 or 4 CAD fee
Really enjoyable experience. It was under construction so some of the ambience was lost but the service was excellent and the food was really good. They hike in food every morning! One of the people was a little short with us when it came to bringing our food but otherwise it was a really good experience. As soon as you get to the switchback the tea house is at the top. The trail goes on for another 1.5km after the tea house.
I’m passing out a 5 star because these guys copter in the seasons food and then pack it in daily when there’s a need. They hike the 7+ miles to get to work and then hike back out. The effort to start the day is worth it!
The food is ok, definitely not cheap, and there is a $4 charge for debit/credit cards. We got the treat of the day cinnamon coffee cake, which was very tasty but would not recommend the scones. They were very plain, dry, and sad looking. The only bathrooms are outhouses so just be prepared and they also don't lock.
Hiking all the way up here was definitely worth it. What made it better was that we had 11 people with us. The hike took us a solid 2 hours with small kids as well, but the food up here was definitely worth it. We ordered a couple chili's, nachos and chips, moose cakes, tea, and bread, and they were all very delicious. The experience was something you don't usually get at a height like this, with an amazing view as well. The staff were very kind as well. Just make sure to get up here before 5pm as the teahouse closes.
After a 10km hike, with a steep ending, this was the best soup I have ever tasted! And the homemade bread filled the stomach for the hike back. Friendly, dedicated staff - they have to hike up ALL their supplies, and hike down the rubbish, so if you can take a small bag back for them, please do!
Beautiful hike that is not too strenuous. There are excellent views going around Lake Louise and to the tea house. Bring cash when going to the tea house because they don't have interac. The trail is excellent and can get very busy. You can park in the Chateu Lake Louise parking lot or take a bus up from below.Food: 4/5
One of my favorite hikes to do around Lake Louise! Can't recommend it enough. If you make it to the tea house, I recommend you carry on to the Abbot Pass viewpoint for better views, which adds another 1.5 km one way, which means out & back trail is 14 kilometers long estimate about 5 hrs in total. Also, be sure to carry some bear spray and/or bells if you plan to hike the trail early morning or late afternoon.
This is the second time I've done this hike. The last time I did it it was 7 years ago and it's just a beautiful and breathtaking as ever.
This place is amazing. Went there for the first time. It feels like well earned tea after about five kms hike. Staff is really nice. Most things are made in house. Food is delicious. Little pricey but worth it for the taste and location. It's better to carry some cash as there may be extra charge on card payments.
