What an amazing find. The staff was very welcoming. It was my 1st time there and they made you feel like family. Fresh ingredients they even grow their own mushrooms!!! One thing I truly love is that they were warm and welcoming one of the family members even shared a slice of their Pizza which I ended up ordering later on during my trip to Michigan. I love that they have seasonal specialty pizzas which are very unique blend of flavors that I never thought I would try on a pizza. Also create your own pizza which is always fun which I made my own and it came out delicious. This is one place I do miss now that I'm back home in Connecticut. And I wish them only happiness and success in the future and I hope that I come back to the area and have more pizza!!
We stopped in this weekend for the 1st time. Very tasty pizza. Owner was super friendly and had obvious love of her craft. Crust tasted great and toppings were high quality. Will come again.
First time trying the pizza here and got a buffalo chicken pizza. There was so much blue cheese that I couldn't taste anything else except for spicyness from the buffalo sauce. Even when I tried to scrape off the blue cheese it was way overpowering. It was barely edible and very disappointing after spending $20 for it. It's sad because I could tell the crust was really good, and I thought the celery was a cool touch. A lot of potential if there was about a quarter of the blue cheese or less. I'd like to try and give this place another shot on a different kind of pizza, but I definitely can't recommend the buffalo chicken pizza as it's usually made. Might be good without the blue cheese or with a very small amount. If you're looking at the picture, the white stuff on top seems to be ranch. The blue cheese is the greenish-blue parts baked into the cheese layer.
A really wonderful little pizza joint. I tried it for the first time today because of the reviews. I ordered the lunch special which was a really value for the money. I am not a small guy, and it was very filling to me. The pizza was fantastic and fresh. The fresh made dough is what I think really makes a difference here. I believe it was the owner who helped me, and she was extremely friendly and kind. If I lived closer I would visit all the time. Highly recommend!
First time eating here and definitely will not be the last. The food was fantastic and the owners, family and staff were so friendly and very welcoming. Best pizza we have had in a very long time.
OMG!!! So many vegan options. Doughs are vegan. Sauces are vegan. Violife vegan cheese or our favorite Miyokos vegan mozzarella. Water and Wheat vegan sausage and vegan chicken. 4 different vegan ice creams, oat milk based so easy on your tummy. Kinda wish I hadn’t found out about this place, going to be tough controlling myself. Also everything was delicious, obviously from scratch dough and sauces. Great service.
Aside from AMAZING pizzas, I love ordering from here because their staff is always excellent as well. They are all genuinely friendly people. I have never actually left a review before, but my experience was so great that I thought I should share.
Hands DOWN. The best pizza in Kalamazoo. My photo of the slice doesn't do it justice. We're talking about pizza dough hand tossed and made daily, handmade sauce, and a mozzarella blend with a hint of Parmesan and oregano, the highest quality toppings. You can order one of their combos or make your own. An extensive menu unlike any pizzeria I have known - featuring among other things, an authentic antipasto salad. It's conveniently located but unfortunately somewhat obscurely located in a tiny strip mall next to the corner car wash and in front of the Walmart on South 9th Street. And then there's the staff. Warm, efficient, easygoing and dedicated. They offer pick up, eat in, and delivery. As the sign inside says: "You can't buy happiness but you can buy pizza and that's kind of the same thing." When I moved here I asked around about the best pizza place in Kalamazoo. I tried many of them. My search led me to the conclusion that I was better off eating Ramen. Then I found Pizza Katarina. Pure Pizza Joy. A testament to the quality of the pie what New Yorkers call pizza, is that my brother from New York City was impressed. This is a family-owned family run operation. And their passion for pizza is more like a mission than a business. I could go on but the simple truth is that if you try it, you'll love it. One hint of their attitude is a lengthy reply to a negative review. Not the standard "we're sorry you had a negative experience blah blah blah" A Top 10 KalamazooGem.
This is a very clean, charming little pizza spot that makes some great pizza! We got the spicy pizza with sausage and the focaccia bread sticks with garlic and cheese. These breadsticks are like Chef Ramsay reinvented Little Caesar’s garlic bread. Absolutely the bomb! Also, I’ve never seen a pizza spot around here with so many vegan options. Very cool!
Decided to try this place tonight based on all the glowing reviews and they did not disappoint! Pizza is amazing, thinner hand tossed crust, great sauce. The service is also stellar, some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Everyone was so friendly and helpful when we said it was our first time, taking the time to go over the menu and their specials. As we ate, they made sure to ask what we thought, and we noticed that a ton of people coming in were regulars. Highly, highly recommend this one!
