This is a sad review to write. This place has in my experience had a great track record. We've always found the food very satisfying in the past, and a positive customer experience. Even in times of visible stress this family business had made an effort towards being personable and satisfying the request. Last time we went a couple months ago there was a very noticeable shift in the experience of ordering. The food was on par with their standards so chalked it up to few hard years and not having been in a while. There was a sense of worn out, jaded, and general resentment towards the customer for ultimately the employees choice to work there. I've worked industry most my life, I can relate personally as well as having seen it in many coworkers the struggle of being over a workplace yet staying for various reasons. Fortunately usually as cooks we have been out of the public eye, so attitude has a little wiggle room. The servers get paid to smile in most of my settings. But these folks are right in view, on the stage if you will. This time was one of the worst experiences of its kind. I asked, as it seemed like my super shwarma was getting the smaller portion of meat meant for the regular one. This was after noticing but not mentioning my pita get practically shredded while getting prepped for toppings. There was no response, I was friendly and genuinely asking. Instead the fella slammed some stuff around and seemed to blame his coworker. He wouldn't respond when i further said I was just asking a question. The energy wasn't not pleasant in there it really felt like they were mad at us for being there and how dare we have a question about our food we were paying for. I would really say you guys know how to knock this out of the park and have for years provided a wonderful product. Its up to you to decide if this is a worthwhile investment if your time. No amount of quality can make up for projecting your inner stuff at your customers. We will not be returning without some sort of outreach from this business. Seems like its time to reevaluate things.
Anyone who wants an authentic TOP quality donair needs to try this place. Donair meat is spiced perfectly. Toppings all fresh. Bread delicious and made with love. Will definitely be back!!!
There seems to be a theme where this place use to be good but I will never go back after the experience we just had with this restaurant. The server was not friendly and just seemed annoyed when we gave our order. The wraps we ordered were burnt on the outside and were not appetizing at all. Just to top it off, my wife and I got violent food poisoning a few hours after eating here. I usually don't go out of my way to write reviews after a bad experience but if I could have given this place a - 5 star rating I would have.
Everything I go I have an issue with the guy who works there. I understand he is neuro atypical but he doesn't listen to customers when they tell him what they want on the pita and his dismissive "yeah yeah yeah" is just rude. It's always one thing or another and then I forget and go back. If listening is an issue for him, maybe a paper order slip where customers check off the meat, size, sauces and toppings so there is less confusion and stress...and nobody has to wipe sauces off that shouldn't have been on heavy.
I have been coming here for years and food has alway been good, service was always with a smile. Unfortunately with the lose of the owner his siblings are having a hard time keeping two stores running and it is showing in customer service. The son and his sister run the place now and it is just overwhelming for the both of them. I hope they get things straightened out or sell to someone who can make it flourish again. Best of luck.
I've been coming here for the past six years, and the quality has remained consistent through all that time. The staff are always friendly, fast, and efficient, and the price is reasonable for what you're getting. What I love about their donairs is how they grill them. They always get the timing just right - perfect grill marks and warm meat combined with still-cold, crunchy and fresh vegetables, and whatever sauces your heart desires. Sometimes they kind of skimp put on the lettuce, though I'm sure this is to keep the balance of the donair in tact. But if you want more of any topping, they're happy to load you up. I've never been disappointed by anything from this place. If you're in the neighbourhood and are in the mood for some Lebanese donairs, stop by the Pita Stop!
I’m giving this place a 3 star because the food has always been good but today was by far the worst customer service I have experienced at this establishment. I’ve been going here for years and I’ve noticed the last year or two, the way they treat customers has went extremely downhill. The young girl working the front was so rude rolling her eyes at my simple request and slamming trays and sauce down. If you cannot be friendly to your customers, maybe working in the back would be better. I really do love the food, the donairs are the best I’ve tasted. But I will not go back if I continue to be treated like an inconvenience.
Decided to stop in for lunch, I have some eating restrictions and the ladies were easily able to help out. The ladies working were delightful and the food is delicious!! So glad I decided to stop in here rather then subway!Food: 5/5
Love the Crispy Beef Donairs! Get them with Extra cheese! Super Delicious! Highly Recommended!
I've been coming here for years and today is the last time. there is a young man working here with 0 customer service and shorting portions as well. couldn't stand being in there due to how hot it was. it was +30 inside the store in October! another customer commented on the heat and the staff just smiled.Food: 3/5
