Mushroom soup was decent, bun was delicious and soft. Ordered on door dash and had no issues, soup was still fairly warm. There were other ingredients in the cream of mushroom than what is traditional, I'm not sure what, I think onions for sure. Didn't bother me was still yummy. No crackers in the bag though, that should be standard.
We had the best experience at the Piping Kettle Soup located at Commissioners today. I went with my wife and kids and since first interaction the servers were excellent. we were involved with the kids and ended up forgetting our soup there. The servers unfortunately I forgot their names left the attached message in car and had taken care of it while we were away. Simple gestures that makes the difference. Please keep up with the good work, we need more people like these two. I definitely recommend it and will have my business again soon.
My husband made a review and said we didn't get our sandwich. Funny these guys blame skip in their reply but our bag was sealed and not tampered with at all. It's the restaurants responsibility to make sure the order is accurate, not skips. If the sandwich was in the order we wouldn't have received 2 buns with garlic spread. We also got our order in a bag that's stapled. It says a lot about your customer service when you blame the delivery guy. We ordered 2 soups. 1 sandwich and one bun all seperately. If skip stole the sandwich why did we get a second bun that looked like a sandwich? Come on guys at least admit your mistake, it says a lot about a company that blames others. I'll be ordering from piping kettle again but never your location. I advise everyone else to choose another location too. These guys don't care about owning their mistakes or customer satisfaction.
I've been eating here for years and have unfortunately noticed it slowly going downhill. The service was incredibly slow, the employees did not seem like they knew what they were doing, nor did the seem like they wanted to be there. I hope it was just a bad day for them, because this is the first time it's been quite that bad. I ordered a broccoli cheddar rice bowl, they scraped the soup out of the bottom of the soup bin, it was cold and had been cooked to the sides and just not very good, it was so cold that the cheddar they added did not even melt. They immediately put in a new pot of piping hot soup, and could have given me fresh soup, but chose not to. While this isn't necessarily the norm that I've experienced, each experience has been progressively worse over the last year or so. Keeping in mind we are just barely post pandemic, I will definitely give them one more try at some point. If the experience is better, I will update this review. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options.
The food was incredible, we each got a different soup and sandwich and everything was delicious. Everything tasted homemade and yummy and the soup was HOT and Fresh. We were there at about 2pm on Friday. The service was a little confusing, you order soup, then pay, then they make your sandwich. The sandwich artist must've been having a bad day because I said "I love that the extra olives in the paper around the sandwich" in complete I LOVE EXTRA OLIVES, and she was kinda miffed and was like "well they don't exactly stay on the sandwich very well there's nothing I can do"... it was a weird interaction but she must've been having a bad day. Atmosphere, you can't exactly eat in the restaurant and we weren't the only ones confused about their ordering system... I think they need to re-do their set up a little bit because it makes no sense, also if we had been able to see they did smoothies we probably would've ordered some too but again the set up of the store was awkward and we didn't see the flavour sign until we were walking out.
I ordered a large chicken BBQ sandwich and tomato soup and a berry smoothie. I ordered a large tomato soup for my wife. The sandwich had hot sauce, not bbq. The smoothie had so many pits you got a mouthful every sip. The soup tasted awful. Neither of us ate the soup. This was very strange as we had ordered from here many times in the past and it was always excellent food and smoothies. Not sure what happened as the order came quickly.
Food is very good. Did not rate the atmosphere as Commissioners Road location is under renovation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Imho best Jambalaya to go I've found. Broccoli cheddar was delicious. Cheesy. Both perfect with a small Corned Beef sammie. Considering the cost of things now, seems like a bargain for dinner. Definitely will be back.
Spent $26 on 2 Turkey chillies. I love heat but this burnt our lips off. Also was all liquid and not a lot of veggies. Watched one of the workers and water to one soup so guess that was the same for the chilli soup! Order this all the time…. Should have made 5x as much myself for the price. Also, did not offer their stamp reward card or crackers!!!!! Wow!!! We order from here all the time…. Must have been a bad day for all 3 servers. When you spend 30$ on take out it’s nice to know people care about you and your money.
Love the soup. Flavours can be so different but so good. I've had quite a bit of their chicken noodle soup over the last month.Food: 4/5
Food is good, has gone down hill a bit. But staffing and ordering procedure is RIDICULOUS!! They make you repeat your order min 5 times, and still have trouble hearing you! Need to train staff better and organize the order process. Shouldn't be this hard to order soup and a sandwich!
