Épicerie Pumpui

Words can't describe how delicious this place is. I spent 7 months in Thailand and have never encountered a restaurant that perfectly recreates the food - until I went to Pumpui! This is a small grocery store so no alcohol is served, but you can buy a beer there, take your meal to go and enjoy a savoury trip to Thailand! The staff is great, the service is quick, the selection is limited but varied enough to please most palates (be aware that most dishes are spicy). There is a small seating area so you can always any food there with a on amazing cup of Thai tea! Yum! 100% recommend this place!

I was really excited to try this place as I love Thai food and it seemed like a good place to get great Thai food fast. Ultimately, it was a bit of a letdown. First, the positive: it was fast (as it was already made food court style) and it was quite tasty (although fairly tepid from sitting out). Also, the woman at the counter was very friendly and explained the dishes will. That being said, the main reason I likely won't be back is the price and the amount of food. The pad Thai was $16 after tax and was not quite enough to fill me up. Again, it was quite tasty, but if you're not a Thai food expert I think you won't quite find it worth the price.

If you're looking for a Thai Express or other westernized food, this is not the place to go. But, if you want fantastic, authentic curries and other Thai dishes, there's no better place in the city. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and serve food that will bring a tear to your eye. They also have a selection of Thai groceries and other imports to browse and buy. You should absolutely go... you won't regret it!!

Not bad but not that great. To me, 5 stars = i cant wait to go back; 4 = i could come back; 3 = not bad but will not come back. 1st plate: Two blocks of tofu in one plate. Not much and would be better is smaller pieces, to let the flavor in. In the other plate, there was so much fat surrounding the meat, it wasnt really worth it. If there was a vegetarian option for 7-8$ yeah, i could go back. But 13$, nah.

What a wonderful restaurant! I’ve eaten here twice, and both times the vegetarian dishes were beautifully spiced with generous portions of fresh vegetable and herbs - delicious! My partner had the fish and it was also fantastic - quite different from the thai fare I am accustomed to. And the salad!!! A “papaya” salad where corn replaced the papaya - really great. I will definitely be back.
