Pho Tan's Vietnamese Restaurant

Fantastic local family resto. Lemongrass pork and chicken on rice or noodles are excellent! The sliced beef + beef brisket pho is very flavourful, delicious and hits the spot see pic. Broth is excellent. Appetizers including the spring rolls are awesome. Prices are very reasonable thank you! and quantities are big— it will fill you up. Service is fast, very polite and precise. This place is always quite busy; I’ve always got a table but you may need to wait around lunch or dinner. I will definitely come back often, and bring friends here. Closes at 7 pm though, so come early. This is a great place, I highly recommend.

10a. Pho Tai Gan. Good portion size, hot delicious broth, dense noodles a tad soft for me, tendons cut slightly thin. Overall an excellent experience. Staff came by twice, once to ask how meal was and the next by bringing extra napkins without us asking.

Having settled in Kerrisdale for over a month, it is time to explore some of the restaurants in the neighbourhood. I found this Vietnamese restaurant is often full house during lunch, so I think it must be worth trying. To tell whether a Vietnamese restaurant is authentic of not, the first thing to try is their beef noodle pho. I ordered a large size raw beef with beef stomach noodle. They served it with basil leaves and beansprouts. I took a sip of the soup, tasted good! The soup base was well balanced, seems it has no/low MSG added. The beef was fresh and became well-done in the water soup. It tasted perfectly with the basil leaves and beansprouts immersed in the soup with a few drops of lime juice. The large portion is good enough to keep you full of energy in the whole afternoon. I walked 10km after the lunch to get it digested. It is worthy to mention they exercised the precautions for COVID-19 seriously. They are doing a good job to clean and sanitise the table properly right after the customer left. The servers were friendly and they had a good observation on what you needed before you asked for it. I think I will be back again for more tasting of their side dishes especially the Vietnamese fried spring rolls.

Soup is too oily and salty. A lot of people during closing time. Wish there were more noodles. I asked for extra noodles and there were barely any noodles. See the picture? That’s all the noodles picked up, the rest of the bowl is empty. Finished in four slurps. I cant imagine ordering regular amount of noodles.

Pho-Tan has one of the best pho soup bases I’ve had in a really long time. The pho dac biet was flavourful and the sliced beef was perfect - it was high quality, had a smooth taste, fresh, and not rubbery. The iced coffee was so yummy with the condensed milk- just another must try. They give you a plastic ice cup so you can even take it to go if you can’t finish your drink. Loved that hehe. Definitely will be re-visiting Pho-Tan! 10/10 service and a very friendly atmosphere.

There is no shortage of Pho restaurants in Vancouver so it's hard to pick one favourite but Pho Tan might be it!! Their spring rolls are so unique, I believe fried in rice paper? for extra crunch- a must try! The special satay sauce noodle soups are my go-to order.

I always get the pho here which is pretty good. Yesterday I tried the lemongrass chicken and it really needs improvement. Needs flavour and could benefit from being grilled nicely. Will try the satay soup next time as people seem to really like that one.

My favorite pho house in my neighborhood. Affordable price and delicious. Every weekend my family enjoying make a togo order and have dine-in sometimes as well. They keeping well about COVID-19 guideline. The accepted to payment methods are cash or debit only. Spring roll and no.8 is best combination for me.

Some of the best tasting pho in Vancouver! Love this local, family restaurant. Huge bubble tea/smoothie menu, the avocado milkshake was to die for! Best service I’ve received at Vietnamese cuisine

Shared 4 dishes with my family after a hike nearby and we all agreed this was some of the best Vietnamese food we’ve ever had. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Very reasonable priced too.
