Delicious spot to come across if you're in the area! The dish I ordered was 205 less spicy and the rice was the chicken fried rice with shrimp, vegetables. Both were delicious and they are quick to bring the food! Prices are great for the portions. I ordered a medium and it was huge! This is a dine-in as well as take out. So it's nice to be able to sit down and enjoy the food. Washrooms are clean which is a plus I'd say! They also give nice hot green tea as soon as you sit. It felt so cozy. Parking: Lots of room around the building to park and free.
Summary: Very cheap food and huge quantities. Fresh tasting, and always having room for walk-ins. My meal pictured was roughly $12-$14 I went here a month ago so I can’t recall the price too specifically. I’ve always loved Vietnamese food and back when I lived in Saskatchewan I would always visit a particular Vietnamese restaurant for several years. It still is my go-to. After moving to St. Catharines I’ve looked everywhere for something similar and this has to be the gem! Environment: Very comfy and a sense of family-owned. When you walk into some restaurants you can tell right away if it is family owned due to the warmth of the server’s behaviour and the atmosphere - this is just that. Lots of seating for you to have privacy and enough for a walk-in on a busy day. Options: there are PLENTY of options. If I remember correctly, there were like over 60 items on the menu and all the food ranged from $5-$25 with the bulk falling around $14. As you can tell from my photo, the portions are large! I totally recommend coming by here. Won’t hurt your wallet and the food is amazing.
Trying the newest item make my mind fly away, everything is fresh and yummy. This dish is suitable for group of 3 or more depending how much topping that you ordered. We had to take away some home because we couldn’t we finish it. It was a good experience.
Love this place! Our family comes here all the time. Super authentic and delicious. The staff are super friendly and the prices are reasonable. This is probably my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in the Niagara region.
Good, clear soup. Noodles were a little thick and over cooked. Beef shank was cut a bit thick and it was a little overcooked/chewy. Dated interior, friendly staff, they'll let you enjoy your food, don't expect them to constantly come by to ask about the food. This is a decent option for this part of town.
Am a frequent visitor of this Vietnamese restaurant. For St. Catharines, this is the most authentic place you will find. Prices are low and portions are great. There is an off menu XXL size one can order for Pho and Vermicelli. There is a good international drink menu as well. Staff are friendly and can speak Vietnamese and Basic-Mandarin. The place is very spacious however only a portion of the restaurant is utilized. It can get cold in the winter. Washroom are okay. TV for your enjoyment. Free WiFi. Free Onsite Parking.
Good place to try. I was in here and ordered broken rice with pork chop and chicken. They did grilled the way I like it. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, is just that the flavour was very dull.
I could wax a poem longer than the bible about this place if I had the time. Pho Ngon is and will continue to be the best Pho and general viet food here in St. Catharines. From the british cartoons on the tv to the warm service, the convenient location to the fantastic menu; I cannot find a thing wrong in this place. Let this establishment be a beacon of light to all other restaurant owners out there on how to run a restaurant with love, care, affection and attention to detail. Classic place, Pho Ngon Friday’s exist for a reason with me.
So good, have eaten lots of Pho and these folks have it down. The fresh rolls were also the finest I've had. As for value, it really doesn't get any better. This place is a little bit off of my usual path but I will certainly return. Get in early if you want parking. Parking: Got there before the dinner rush so no issues. Lot was quite full when we left.
We ordered 2 medium soup and a vegetable appetizer for $52. I found it to be overpriced and very meh. Small soup portions and lacking flavour
