WOW! What an amazing experience, So much food for such a reasonable price. Why anyone would go to Alfy's when you have a top notch place like this so close to downtown core. I went for lunch and now have supper as well, this is a two meal soup, meaning it's going to feed me twice, Thank you PHO Five Star, you have not seen the last of me. everyone else, do yourself a favor and try out their soup, you wont be able to complain about not getting enough, TRUST Me. They are now in the top 3 of places I like to go, Cheers,
Amazing amazing amazing Viet food. I’ve had food from this place 3 times now and it has become one of my Top 2 favourite Vietnamese restaurants the other is Purple Noodle Bar on Stafford. Get the House Deluxe Vermicelli. Don’t think about it, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. The biggest drawback to most Viet restaurants is the quality of the meat is very sub-par. Not here. Delicious every time and the portion size is amazing for $13.50. A+
I was in the area looking for a bite to eat. Usually I head over to pho number 1. They were closed so I tried pho five star. I'm very happy that I did. Food was quick, hot and very tasty. I was informed that until the end of jan they have 30% off. The staff were very polite too. I'll definitely eat here again
I was eating at the previous restaurant Kim Sang since my children were small. The food is fresh, portions are big and the owners are always serving with a smile! Now that they moved to the new Balmoral St location, it’s a little further away but still make a point to eat here when I can.
the photos on here are different from what came in. the fried rice was just white, egg, spring onion, not like the photo at all. however, the house deluxe vermicelli was good, just wish u could change it to fried rice instead of vermicelli. the pho is ok.
Ok so this vietnamese restaurant we just ate at was bad.. terrible the food was.. salad rolls were just ok not great like other Vietnamese restaurants.. are main course was chow main Witch had no flavor... tbe sauce was like garlic water and the noodles were like super store no name chicken noodles in a single pack. Do you know the one's i talk about ? So i complained and they just staired at me like i didnt know anything.. Still had to pay full price .. So to the people of Winnipeg please stay away from this dive of a restaurant.. Their are many more vietnamese restaurants that are fantastic just not this one.. Huong cau on 555 balmoral is a bad flavorless Vietnamese restaurant. Stay away Winnipeg.
SO good. Our order did arrive cold but I believe that was the fault of the Skip driver. Either way, I will be ordering again as the food was amazing.
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the city. It’s a new name but if you’ve been to Kim sang in the past you know what I’m talking about. Get the charbroiled pork. Spring rolls are also delish

I ordered the deluxe vermicelli with charbroiled pork, spring rolls, and pork balls. It was delicious and exactly what I was craving! I will order it again.
