I was next waiting in line at the checkout and after the cashier finished serving the customer before me, she put her closed sign on the counter and told me she couldn’t serve me because she was being paged. I asked her if she could just finish with me first since I was waiting before they paged her, I had only 4 items to scan and I was the only one in her line. She refused, saying they had paged her and she had to go and I should go to stand at the back of another line. If I didn’t need these essentials from the pharmacy, I would have happily abandoned the cart with the items and walked out. The first rule of customer service is that the customer comes first. It is CUSTOMARY to finish with all your customers before closing your cash to do anything else. Unbelievable.
