This place drives me nuts they change the price higher at late night and early morning and then dropped it back down later in the morning. They are trying to get the off hour customers. I live in the neighborhood and see this happening all the time. They are ripping customers off .... I NEVER fill up here ... Even though it would be convenient for me

Well let me tell you a story. It all began on December 16th, traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year. There I was cruising around town, picking up all sorts of presents for my dear darling wife. I’m having an okay time of it, but I need to hit Southgate Mall, and this is NOT the day for it. SCADS of people are everywhere, screaming, crying, and of course: parking in an already busy mall-lot. So there I am, searching for parking, and I turn off into a pretty far-back spot, the only one available for miles around. I make a tight turn in and find myself a little misaligned. So I back-out and pull back-in perfectly straight; it’s a beaut of a park job. But then I hear a car horn. Have I hit someone? Nopers. That’s not the case. Someone saw me backing out and assumed I was leaving – when I didn’t – an inferno of parking-lot rage engulfed this Johnny-come-lately. A lightly damaged Lexus is BLASTING their horn and SCREAMING words that are certainly not Season’s Greetings. I attempt to explain, “I was only straightening my park-job. I’m not spot-hogging, and I just got here.” But they weren’t having a damn word of it. So I flip her the bird and walk off. It was a little juvenile, I admit. Anyway, I go about my shopping, come back 20 minutes later to find one of my back tires have been deflated. Now I can’t definitively say that the wonderful woman in a 2015 Lexus RX350 with a distinct “I ran into a lightpost” bumper crack is the one who deflated my tire, but I’d peg her as the prime suspect. Nothing to be done about it – so I set about the work of swapping my tire with the spare. It was about 2 degrees Celsius if I recall: Unseasonably warm for that time of year, so the job went exceedingly well. With a joyful song in my heart, I visit the nearest gas station – this very one – the Petro Can on 51st street. Now I don’t often carry change for snacks or air-pumps and today was no different. The air pump here doesn’t have one of the credit-tap units installed yet, so I headed inside the station to see what could be done. My intent was to purchase a snack and have them ring me up and extra buck to slot into their air-pump. It’s only courtesy when you ask for change to make a purchase, it’s just how I was raised. So I go to grab a Reese Peanut Butter Cup (My favourite snack) but find the station is plum-out of the delicious savoury-sweet chocolates. So I pick up the next best thing – a snack-sized bag of Ruffles All-Dressed potato chips, and head to the till. I explain the situation to the lovely attendant who replies “No worries about us ringing you up for an extra Loonie for our pump, Jake. I can flip the air on from here. I’ll sell you those chips, and you go right ahead and fill your tire for free.” She wished me a merry Christmas, and I carried on my way. It was a true Christmas miracle, and one I’ll not soon forget. I give this Petro can a 4.5/5, have to deduct a half star because of the lack of peanut butter cups. But I’ll round up the total 5 just because!
