This was absolutely divine, the 'Big Rick' was like a spontaneous explosion of deep and rich tones, with a meaty tornado. Capturing the magnificent pop of fresh vegetables and tasty sauce. Then we were faced with a new challenger 'Purple Haze' that has curious strokes of sweet and tangy feta with tomato. Purple onins flying in with a colorful addition to the party and to finish it off, spinach coming in with a light crispy coating on it..
Some of the best pizzas I've ever had - I even come across the sea from Vancouver to eat them! This is what I look forward to when I'm on the Peninsula. Beautiful crusts - regular style but not too thick and not too heavy - perfectly cooked for some great crunch but not so hard it scratches your mouth. Great quality toppings that are chopped big enough to stand out, and a thicker tomato sauce with some sweetness that subtly hints of cherry tomatoes on your tongue. We ordered the Super Taco pizza, which brought back the wonders of taco pizza when it first came out, back in the 80s or early 90s. Back when it was really good. Mexi-style ground beef on a light salsa base, cheddar and onions baked on their great crust and topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. We paired that with the simple Hawaiian that was a pick-up special and it did impress. The ham was better than expected and suited the sauce just right. I got one of the dips to go with that, which might have been the only drawback. The handmade dip did take great, don't get me wrong on that, but it was kind of overpriced for the portion, and I didn't think the portion was enough for the whole pizza. While the dip was a little small, the pizzas were not. The medium fed us well and the large was definitely large, even though it was the cheaper deal. The sizes and the quality of the pizzas match the prices; they totally satisfied me and even gave a good amount of leftovers. So maybe making a four hour trip like I did to get some pizza is a little much they don't deliver to Vancouver - but even though the pizza might get cold on that trip home, it works beautifully for locals, I think you'd probably eat it all before the ferry docks anyways, and the leftovers are still great! I'll be going back whenever I'm on the Island and I'll be working through their whole menu. Chicago style deep dish and Boss Lady Veggie in particular; but the different meat loving selections and the chicken and veggie based ones all look great - plus the ability to have them Detroit style! And now that I've heard about the calamari Kraken I'm suddenly wanting seafood on a pizza for the first time in my life well, second, but I'll let them ask me what the other one was. My family always makes the drive for here when we come up from Duncan. They are very friendly and make amazing pizza. I highly recommend the Mac daddy and the loaded baked potato pizza. They also make special pizzas for all your different dietary needs without fussing. Always friendly staff!Recommended dishesLoaded Baked Potato
We usually pick up our large House Special pizza, but had decided to have it delivered tonight and figured it would be worth the delivery charge plus 15% tip for the driver. What normally would cost us roughly $30 to pick up, we were shocked when we were presented with the bill of $58.50 before tip. We weren’t made aware of a minimum charge of $50 to the Sidney area. Had we been made aware of this when we ordered on the phone, we either would have opted to pick it up ourselves or have made the order equivalent to a $50 value. As it turned out when adding on tip for the driver, our $30-ish pizza came to over a little over $67.00. We recommend their pizza for their quality but please be aware of this minimum charge for Sidney delivery before placing your order, especially as you could be paying upwards of double the amount of what it actually costs. Maybe a note to staff to PLEASE make customers aware of this also when they place their order. Kind of disappointed that I wasn’t made aware of this when they could easily see what my order was costing in relation to their $50 minimum. UPDATE: Within 10-15 minutes of posting this review we received a phone call from the owner apologizing for not making us aware of the $50 minimum delivery charge to Sidney. She generously offered a credit to our phone number for our next order to make up the difference in cost. We were very impressed with the prompt response and rectification to our situation, and we have now changed our 3-star review to a 5-star rating, and happier to do so, because the pizza is always excellent. The management and service, as we now know, is equally impressive.
Absolutely Amazing service!! Always so pleasant, Thank you: The pizza is out of this world, seriously the best pizza I have ever had!! The only thing that would make this place better is, if they bring back their CHICKEN AND WAFFLE PIZZA, which was the most amazing thing I have tasted
Ordered pizza this evening. Now normally we get pizza hut or Keating pizza, wanted to try something new tonight - Little farther away than our normal spots but defiantly did not disappoint! Our new favorite place for sure. Great work Peninsula pizza! We will be returning soon!
The only place I’ve been able to find a jalapeño popper pizza. And it’s SO good. The Mansi pizza is delicious as well. Their dips are amazing! I wish I lived closer to them!
First time trying Peninsula Pizza on a recommendation from a friend. I will say it was decent but not what I expected. I ordered a large pizza on the takeout special; which is great value. The crust had a great crunch and the sauce tasted really fresh. My only issue was with the cheese. It was very very salty and my companion had noticed that as well. I don’t know if it’s normally that salty, but we both were quite taken back and had to remove it from some slices. I would give it another chance if the saltiness was toned down a bit. If you’re local then by all means try it out but I personally wouldn’t go out my way for it.
Amazing people. Pizza delicious. Gave a free pizza for a delivery mix up. Will be back. Thank you.
Definitely a superior pizza from those living on the Peninsula. After hearing many positive reviews from friends, we gave it a try even though it is a bit of a drive to their shop. This is a take away pizza store. There is no inside seating though a few tables are outside, likely used by those waiting for their order to complete. We ordered online and it was ready when we arrived, exactly on time. This pizza shop uses good quality boxes for packing. This is important as it helps retain the heat while the meal is in transit. Once home, the vegetarian pizza was removed from the box and placed on plates. We had a good look at construction and materials before devouring the entire pie. The quality meets our high standards, as did the taste. This is up there with our favourite neighbourhood shop and worth the drive. Price is a bit on the high side. It would be appropriate to pay attention to specials and promotions when ordering from this store. The higher price is reflected in the quality of the product. In summary, this is now one of the two pizza places on the Peninsula that we will patronize.
