What happened?? Got 2 slices to go today. Just opened them up. Where are the toppings. Keating Pizza is known for its big fat Pizza. I was shocked. Not impressed for 2 slices at 15.00 plus. After reading the reviews. I don't like how owners or management respond to criticism. Not sure what has happened here. But seriously has gone downhill. And maybe you should take criticism seriously. Because if your customers aren't happy they won't return. I for one will tell everyone who use to like Keating Pizza, not to waste their time. So sad..
Craving pizza, I thought I’d try Keating Pizza for the first time. My cell phone was having issues so I couldn’t call ahead. Once there, I was told it would be about 25 minutes for a medium pizza so I chose 4 slices of pepperoni pizza which is the same size as a medium pizza but more expensive - I paid $26.25! Once home we attempted to eat the slices but couldn’t make it past a few bites each. Worst pizza on the island! They use the cheapest “pretend” pepperoni, sliced thick and double stacked - it was vile and actually made me nauseous! The sauce was “passable”, a bit sweet but no bearing on an authentic Italian sauce. Then they piled on cheese overtop everything. The crust was just so-so but there was way too much cheese. An extremely disappointing meal. And it wasn’t cheap either. I will not be returning.
About 20 minute drive from downtown Victoria, Keating is a beautiful quiet community who's pride is the Keating Pizza place. They have the juiciest Hawaiian pizza I've seen yet. It's worth the drive!
I really don’t know why I keep coming back here. The slices that are gone weren’t eaten, we placed them on the other side of the box to try and soak up some of the oil. The entire box ended up going into the garbage as I wouldn’t even let my dog eat this stuff. The pizza we got tonight was really sloppy and unappetizing. The dough was either not cooked long enough or there was too much sauce but all the slices in the box are soaked with so much oil that the liner inside the pizza box was soaked through. Every time my partner and I order pizza from here it looks like this. I really don’t know why we thought MAYBE this time it wouldn’t be as gross, but nope. Now we definitely won’t be coming back. What a shame.
Always good stuff, been going here for like... 25 years? Yeah it's under new owners, but it's still pretty great. Wish pizza prices were cheaper all over, but this place is still in line with most places on the Island, and it's definitely the most filling pizza you'll find. They got some cheaper options like the takeout specials, which are all still pretty generous. Edit: Good point about the ownership thing Doug, but I get stuck in my ways, I still call Fairway here 'Tru Value' sometimes. Anyway, good pizza, enjoying leftovers for tonight. All the best.
I've been going to this pizza place on and off since 2006 I think... I pretty much order the Meat Lovers pizza 99% of the time. Only recently I figured out you can make substitutions because of ordering online... I take off the lean beef and add garlic and this pizza is pretty much perfect for me. They have not disappointed me in all these years, kudos!
Over priced.. They talk about how large the slices are on the radio and billboard signs but the slices are smaller than the average pizza joint at a much higher cost. $6.50 per slice!
First time trying and while the crust, toppings and sauce were adequate the cheese was as dry and hard and chewy as a pencil eraser! Not sure what they are using but I think this particular batch was stale and old the end result was completely inedible... Nearly $40 for a single large pizza that we couldn't eat. For those of you reading this review please have a look at the owner's response and know that this is the type of customer service you will receive. To the owners This is not some frivolous complaint in an attempt to get free food. How exactly was I supposed to be able to tell that the cheese was dry hard and as chewy as an eraser by looking at it in the store How about you as the owner take responsibility for your substandard product instead of putting the responsibility on to the customer. you should be inspecting your product for quality when you receive it from your supplier... talk to them! talk to your vendors! do your due diligence! Don't expect your customers to do it for you or you won't have customers for very long!
Best pizza I've had in a while! Took two pieces of by the slice one fresh out of oven and they where both amazing. Big crust big ingredients. Will be back to order a whole pie.
Well……I was about to leave a review much like a lot of them here. Was going to load a photo and everything. Long time customer, sorely disappointed last few times…. Blah blah blah. But after reading the responses from Keating Pizza I decided not to bother. Ownership is obviously not interested in replying in a respectful manner. They seem more interested in blaming and speaking condescendingly. One more reason why they have lost my business.
