Very crowded and disorganized store, but the employees are helpful and know where everything is. We bought a bag and two blankets. Then my daughter tried on some shoes and after some discussion opted not to buy them at this time. The male employee offered to put them away for her incase she decided to come back for them, she agreed and thanked him. On the way out the owner sent us off with a "did you pay for that bag?" A little rough, but ok, I answered yes I did and we left discussing his poor social skills. About 15 minutes later we are on a bus & I see him at the window, I smile and think maybe he is going to offer a discount, how nice. Not really. He wants to now if we have the shoes because he can't find them. I'm shocked, but advise him his male employee put them away in case we choose to come back. The man then asked for his employees name, seriously, there was one male and one female employee, figure it out. I'm pretty sure we were going back for the shoes, but not now. If I wasn't on a bus I would have marched back and returned my purchases. Rude, rude man.

This will be my 1st review I am doing it to let others know how terrible our experience was at the General Store. While visiting Whistler for the Biathlon National Championships that 2 of our children were competing it, we decided to take a free day and drive the 34k to the town of Pemberton so that we could go to the General Store. We found it while goggling for a tack store, we wanted to buy B-day gifts for our daughter. My 3 teen aged children went before my husband and I when we went it it was apparent that the owner of the store was keeping a very close eye on them. I said wow this is a real General Store his reply was a very rude well it ain't no fairy tail. He was beyond rude I can't imagine how he has stayed in business. Everyone we came across on our trip to BC was super friendlt until him. Other people in the town said he was a rude man. I strongly suggest nobody gives in their business and that you instead go in to the out fitters store near to it. They were really nice and helpful and we spent our money there.

The Pemberton General Store had the best selection of boots (men's and women's) I have ever experienced. I went to every store in Whistler to find winter boots, and not one store carried any in stock, despite the area having deep snow conditions. The General Store carried all styles of Sorel boots and had a great selection of moccasins. The store also carried a large selection of outdoor wear (men's and women's).
