Peaked Pies

I got the black pepper steak and my partner got the steak/cheese/bacon peaked, which means with mash, mushy peas and gravy on top. Both were super filling and delicious. They sell frozen pies as well so we bought two for an easy dinner at home sometime. The service was very friendly and the space was nice--bright, open front-of-house area with tons of natural sunlight.

Hearty wholesome pies! They even serve Kangaroo meat here which is a fun adventurous pie. All the pies tasted very good and of good quality. The spinach ricotta roll was nice and flaky. Flavours are all on the milder side. A nice eat and recommend the peaked option of adding mashed potatoes and mashed peas on top of your pie.

I’ve never had an Aussie pie before and a friend recommended it to me so I decided to give it a try. First impression is- pretty good. I had the peaked pie for the full experience, with peas and mashed potatoes stacked on top and gravy poured all over. The peas tasted like peas, the mashed potato was good, and the pie itself I went for chicken mushroom and leek was quite flavorful. Portion size is great too- one peaked pie and a cinnamon bun was enough to leave me stuffed. I’ll be back.

Hot food took a lot longer than expected from other pie shops with not many patrons there 12-15 minutes for pies, 15-20 minutes for coffee, but they came in good form and smelled great. The filling ratio was off in the peaked pies we ordered - too little meat and gravy to mashed potato and mushy peas. The flavour turned out a bit blander in half the bites because of this. Thank goodness I love pie crust. I'd probably order without either potatoes or peas next time just to offset the imbalance. Mocha and lamington were surprisingly delicious. Staff was friendly, parking is the usual on Hastings, and decor was modern. Music choice was kind of random, but ok. The atmosphere was chill and open - indoors and outdoors seating. Would definitely return to try other pies.

We found this place looking for another place. Basically, it's a pot pie place, but a bit more lol I got the steak and mushrooms peaked, which means it comes with a scoop of mashed potatoes and a scoop of green peas mashed covered with gravy. I'd ask for another scoop of gravy because it's so good. The butter chicken pie was good. The crusts are flaky, and they will fill you up for sure. Has about 10 to 15 seats. The also have frozen pies which you can take home if you'd like.

We enjoyed the pies very much. I had the lentil mentil and my friend ordered a mushroom chicken peaked pie. They were very well made and delicious but somewhat expensive given the amount of ingredients and the sizes of these pies! The coffee was good quality but it was served below our expected temperature just above cold!. Overall, this place has a lot of potential to expand if they these minor issues. They could also offer more vegetarian varieties.

Yum! Such delicious and filling comfort food. I got some pies delivered and was not disappointed! The traditional Aussie was great - definitely get it peaked! Something about the peas, mashed potato and gravy just hits the spot. The sausage roll was also great with flaky pastry and stuffed with meat. I also got the minington but it was very mediocre - so would pass on that next time.

Definitely going back! We had the: Hopper - ground kangaroo meat. Such great flavour, a bit of a kick to it… pun intended. It was peaked meaning they put mashed potato, mashed peas and gravy. I wasn’t a fan of the peas.. but I don’t like peas in general. Chunky steak and mushroom: very savoury and a lot of great flavour. Traditional Aussie, with ground beef. Delicious!! Like a beef pot pie Must try the vanilla slice. It had custard and some sort of strawberry icing. The way it looks confuses you because it’s not what you expect. But in the most amazing way ! Parking: Free little parking lot behind, along Gilmore .

Delicious pies! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nice and convenient place to dine, very close to the bus stop. Definitely will visit again.

Fantastic Aussie style meat pies and sausage rolls. They also have a range of Australian desserts like lamingtons, salted caramel slice, Anzac biscuits etc. My favourite is the Traditional Aussie Pie, peaked mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy. Really good coffee, too.
