Great museum with in-depth exhibits that showcase a wide variety of art. The atrium is gorgeous and wonderful introduction to the museum as you enter it before going off the arteries that lead to the separate exhibits. The Yin Tang house is also a treasure that you must see -- it transports you right to China. The fact that admission is free to Salem residents and teachers is also amazing and a great way for my family to take in art on our tight budget. The museum is a short walk away from other great sights and restaurants as well.

I cannot believe that I have never been there before. I had heard a lot of good things about it in the past. The architecture of the building is stunning and the separation of the exhibits works well. We went to see three Georgia O'Keefe exhibition, and while there were not that many of her pieces there, the story the museum told using a lot of her utensils and clothing was comprehensive. My 8 and 10 year old kids as well as my mom really enjoyed the exhibition as well.

Awesome museum! They have a traveling exhibit space that regularly rotates. When we were there they had XYZT, which was a nice interactive exhibit there the projections reacted to you. They also have a Chinese house there, which requires separate tickets. There's food in the atrium and lots more to choose from just outside the door in the museum place area. Museum store is very nice and tastefully done. Parents: consistently rated one of the best museums of young kids. Kids under 16 and students are free. Museum store has lots of thing to encourage your little one. EV drivers: Free chargers in the parking garage adjacent to the museum.

This is a beautiful museum building with three floors. They have some permanent exhibits relating to their heritage as a museum about Salem’s seafaring days in the late 1790s to mid 1800s. We especially liked the maritime art but they also have early American art plus Japanese and Chinese art from the early Asian trading days.

Interesting exhibits, and nice open spaces to display them. The museum is definitely digestible in a day. I haven't had the chance to see the Chinese house, I hope to do so soon. It's free to Salem residents, in went on a Sunday, $20.00 for a non-resident.
