PCHC - Penobscot Community Health Care

My experience at PCHC has for the most part positive. My Primary Care Provider is very good. There are times when she spends a lot of time with me and others times I have felt very hurried. What I like is that if I am concerned with something I don't hesitate to talk her about how I feel so We can talk about it. We have to be proactive with our care.

There are some world-class, highly brilliant practitioners here, but they work for a clinic that just takes on too many patients, and the quality of care is severely compromised. You'll start by examining your own lab results which are posted via their electronic portal, while you wait for answers, even after several phonecalls. Hopefully you have a background in biochemistry. You may be scheduled with another doctor, if yours is unavailable for long durations, and then told that you can't actually be seen once you arrive, because the substitute is not your primary care physician. If you do see your doctor, he or she may attempt to move things along faster than you wish. Little things like that which are undeniably rooted in overlooking, and it transfers to stress of the doctors, and staff.

It is a complete waste of time to go be seen here. They are more concerned about when my last pap test was and more concerned setting other appts up for me than what I went in for. I saw an FNP L.L. were her initials. I decided to give her another chance I called and asked if she would prescribe Retin-A. I have used Retin-A topical for years as my wrinkle cream. She would not call it in for me. She said I had to go in and be seen. Really for Retinol? Retinol is the most effective anti aging topical. Do I have to be seen every time I need a new tube? This FNP is receiving a lot of patients from someone who has left this center and more than a few are asking for recommendations because they don't want to see her.
