"Now offering online oil painting classes.Bare-bones beginners, intermediate and advanced classes. Learn to paint in the Traditional Realist style: landscapes, scenics and still lifes. When: Separate classes are held on Friday mornings, Saturdays and Sundays. My teaching style is a balance of structured lessons based in the foundational principles of painting and individual freedom of expression. Cannot recommend Patrick more! I take oil painting classes on Sundays at the Phinney Ridge Community Center. Prior to this I had never oil painted before and was pretty nervous. It's so great to be sitting in a room full of people at all different levels. My class varies between 7 and 11 people. Patrick gives as much one on one support as needed, but also gives you space to explore and learn. He's kind, funny and incredibly talented. I have already seen a huge improvement and will continue to take classes with him as long as I can.
I’m very glad I signed up for Patrick’s oil painting classes. I was completely new to oil painting and I’ve learnt a lot in the last months. The class itself is very relaxing with a good balance of 1:1 teaching and ability to explore. Being surrounded by others with a range of skills is inspiring. This class is a great mental break from my regular routine and I highly recommend it for everyone!
Patrick is an excellent teacher who can teach to anyone's skill level I had no prior experience!. I've been so pleased with my progress and the guidance I have received from Patrick. I highly recommend his classes for anyone interested in oil painting.
Patrick is a great teacher - very fun, patient, and meets you at whatever skill level you're at. It's only been a few months but I can tell my skills have improved and I feel a lot more comfortable with oil painting than at the outset.
Patrick's class is terrific for oil painters of all skill levels! As a beginner, I learn new techniques and ways of looking at every class. It's a low-pressure, supportive environment. Highly recommended.
Patrick Howe is an excellent, patient teacher and instructor for all skill levels. He has vast knowledge in the field. He is also an accomplished artist and writer. I travel a great distance to attend weekly instruction.
