The Portage & District Arts Centre in centrally located in Portage la Prairie, MB within the William Glesby Centre.
EXHIBITIONS: Our Galleries feature a new exhibition or installation every few months and showcase a wide variety of exceptional art from Manitoba and across the country.
GIFT SHOP: Give a gift of original art...Our gift shop carries a selection of quality art supplies as well as unique giftware by local and regional artists.
CLASSES & WORKSHOPS: We offer a multitude of programming for all abilities and ages. A large classroom is available for classes & workshops. It is also used every Wednesday afternoon as a studio for artists to work independently in the company of other artists. The pottery studio is equipped with 8 pottery wheels and an electric kiln. Our dance studio provides a great space for Jazz, Contemporary, Ukrainian, Hip Hop, Ballet and Cheer classes in addition to other physical arts including Zumba and Social Dance.
CAMPS: During the summer months of July and August, we offer Children's Art Camps for ages 7-13.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Currently we have a multitude of special events including Exhibition Openings, Reel Event Independent Film Screenings, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Tour, Celebration of the Arts Dinner & Art Auction Gala & an Artful Garden Tour.
ARTSSMARTS: The PDAC ArtsSmarts committee, formed in 2014, is comprised of members from the Portage & District Arts council and the general public. Its mandate is to ensure that the role of the arts in our community continues into the future and that these three components are kept alive: Local Youth, Local Artists and Local Community Support.
