Store has gone through some excellent transformations under new ownership. Produce dept quality improved dramatically. You never know what deal you may find here. Overall appearance and quality in the fresh departments is improved with a big thanks. Service is good but could be great. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the business to better levels.

We need better produce , shelves are out of stock and selection is minimal for a growing town but the lack of options would explain the complacency I suppose.nnBakery: for the last 5 visits I have had terrible bakery service. This dept is shameful with dirty floors, boxes everywhere every time and service is junk. I just do not understand how a manager could not pay attention to this section since its content would be ever popular and it’s very obviously lacking.nnPlease refer to the independent in Carleton Place for a better example!

I have really tried to make this my “go to” store as I live in the area, but I just can’t make any more excuses for the place. The staff are always nice - but the selection is poor, the prices are higher than the Independent in CP and you end up having to pack your own order. I don’t mind doing this - but expect to pay Food Basics prices if I am doing so. I *OFTEN* find items at or close to expired on the shelves. This item pictured was from the discount shelves near the meat section - EXPIRED IN 2022. I hope a senior or someone with bad eyesight didn’t pick this up without knowing it was 15 months past its expiry date. Why the heck do they even *have* something this old still in their stock room?! Is that place not cleaned out regularly? eww

Nice staff and clean store but prices are horrendous.

Good selection of produce. Favorite is rotisserie chicken. Patti always puts a smile on your face.
