I have owned two pools and one hot tub, all purchased and maintained by Parkway Pools and Spas. In addition to providing affordable service, the staff shares their knowledge so that you can perform simple task on your own instead of paying someone to perform the service. A major cost savings.

I needed a new liner, called and pkwy was the cheapest by $100. The total for a new liner to even out the sand, take the old liner out and replace it with the new one and put the pool back together was $1300 cash. SO I gave a deposit of $600 cash 5/22 and we agreed that once the job was done he would get the balance. He said he ordered the new liner and it will be put in on Wed or Thurs. of that week. 2 guys showed up Wed with a pump to remove the rest of the water in the pool quicker then my garden hose can do. They said they would be back tomorrow (Thurs. 5/25) to put the liner in. Waited home all day for them - no show. Then I get a call Friday from the worker saying that he will be back Saturday to put the liner in - Great! I said. Another no show - then I get a call Sunday 5/28 from the same worker asking if he could come Monday (Memorial Day) to put the liner in -- I said that is fine I will be home. It did rain a bit in the morning - 2 guys showed up at 10:45 dismantled the pool, threw the leaves and debris all around my pool and left a HUGE mess for me to clean up but never took the liner out and just disappeared after an hour of work. I went up to Pkwy pools on Tuesday to speak with the owner and find out what is going on. He got very LOUD and defensive and said he had no clue what was going on. He hadn't heard from his workers but he would figure it out and get back to me. Later that evening I got a call back again from the worker saying that first it was raining and he couldn't do the work, then he said that it wasn't warm enough to install the liner, then he said that he had a family BBQ to go to in the afternoon and couldn't stay to complete the work. The he said that he would be back because he is leaving for Maryland on Thursday 6/1 and had jobs he needed to finish. SO 3 stories from the worker in a 5 minute call. So then they showed up Wednesday and put the liner in finally!! They said they would be back the following day to install the outtake and intake. SO I took a walk around my pool --I found out where the leaves and some sand went by looking around my pool on the ground!!!! (see photos) The left that mess for me to clean up! The rail was put in wrong so I had the guy fix that when they showed up on Friday 6/2. I asked him who was going to clean up that mess, he shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know. (SO that told me he was not going to do it) I asked why they didn't use a tarp or wheelbarrow to throw debris into then get rid of it? I again got the shoulder shrug. So now, I filled the pool up and noticed MANY uneven spots throughout the pool, some the size my foot can go in and wrinkles along the bottom as well. I take a trip back up to talk to john on 6/12. He said "Can I help you?" I stated yes, you installed my liner and he said oh do you have a water sample - I said now, I would like to discuss the completion of the pool liner. He again gets loud, and says what do you want me to do? I explained to him about the wrinkles and dips from the uneven sand, and I said can you fix this? He said "we have a trick that can fix the wrinkles without draining the pool". I said what about all the dips/uneven spots of sand - he said the guys dumped bags of sand and it is even. I said no they didn't because I watched what the workers did and never did they bring bags of sand into my yard and dump them in the pool area. He then got louder and said what ever lets just settle this for $300 and call it a day! I said but what about the issues? He then began to get louder saying if I want it fixed then no one can use the pool till he gets out here -- I asked when was that going to be? Today, tomorrow? He replied he is very busy and maybe in 3 or 4 days. I said that is not acceptable. He then got louder saying what your not going to pay me now?? I said I will gladly pay you when the job is done! He said forget I will see you in court! I said okay if that is the route you want to take see you there. NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN! I will go to Century 21, Coral Isle or Mr. Bills.

I bought my pool from John when he was in Johnson City as Binghamton Pools. Now 16 years ( and money spent at his store) later when I needed an estimate on my pool to be repaired he wanted to charge me $175.00 just to come look at it (He said it was because he would have to send a two man crew to give the estimate). When I needed a part he directed me to a website to get it myself as the pool he sold me was bought by another company. When I got hold of the company they said they only sold to dealers....thanks John! Well they lost my business...I bought a new pool from Coral Isle Pools.

I am not sure why pool companies act like you are an inconvenience during the summer if you need help with your pool, this is how I was treated. Then with attitude, this guy asks if I had an unpaid bill before even letting me finish explaining what help I needed. They said they would call me in a few days to schedule a date and time and that it would be $100 service charge just to show up, needless to say, they never called back. That to me is unprofessional and would never recommend!
