My family mom and sisters and I have been seeing Dr Park for many years. I always feel like I am in good hands. Danielle is amazing and has been her receptionist since I started seeing her over 20 years ago. Dr Park answers every question. And is very kind hearted, patient and funny.
I had a schedule to remove an IUD that had coiled up and most probably needed a surgical procedure, however, Dr. Park did a great job removing it and saved me from surgery! She was so understanding and professional. The whole ambiance of her clinic is welcoming included the receptionist. I highly recommend Dr. Park!
Went for my very first gyno visit this morning. I was nervous because of these reviews but honestly, I had a good experience. Front desk is very friendly and Dr.Park works very efficiently. She’s not very talkative but made sure to ask if I had any major concerns or questions. If you like having a fast appointment and don’t mind minimal conversation, she is a great physician. Seems very knowledgeable about her field.
The bad reviews are justified, from my experience. I waited 2 months for an appointment over the phone during which she said she wouldn’t be able to accommodate me. She kept saying, quote “we’re doing you a favour” after I asked her why she couldn’t help me. She then hung up on me when I asked “how are you doing me a favour?” I’m left in tears because I now have to go back to square one with my family doctor, which will take many more months. No compassion or kindness. See anyone else.
Shocked to see the negative reviews. I have been Dr. Park’s patient for almost three years and she is one of most experienced, knowledgeable gynaecologists we know. I switched to Dr. Park from another gynaecologist who previously made a wrong diagnosis and caused me ending up in ER. Dr. Park gave the correct diagnosis and performed a surgery on me which helped alleviate my pain. She is a popular doctor and can be busy but she is always polite. Her admin, Danielle, is also so kind. Danielle and Dr. Park make me feel that they really care about their patients.
My mom has been seeing Dr. Park for 20 years and only has great things to say about her. Danielle, the receptionist, is also so incredibly lovely and kind despite being so busy. It’s a breath of fresh air!
It was my first gynecologist visit to Canada. And everything went smoothly. The administrator is friendly, kind and polite. The doctor is attentive, focused and clear. Thank you very much!
I debated writing this for months because I felt bad, but the truth is Dr Park was shockingly cold. I didn’t read any reviews before, but her receptionist was so lovely and I felt safe going into that room. She interrupted me, ignored my questions, and actually made me feel stupid and weak for saying a previous procedure from a different dr was painful and I was nervous to have it done again. Her exam was cold but quick, she left the room with me mid sentence. I wanted to believe maybe she was having an off day but then I decided to see if she had reviews and now I’m just so sad. Sad for her and that she leaves people feeling this way often, sad for the women who felt belittled like I did. I won’t say don’t go because I know how dire our health care system is for accessibility to specialists. But I will not ever go back again. Make the choice for yourself, it appears some are treated well.
Review after first visit: I researched Dr. Esther Park before going, and I almost cancelled my appointment because of all the negative reviews. But I went and saw for myself: - The ambiance at the clinic is very welcoming and comfortable. - The place is very clean. - The receptionist is so nice and friendly. - The Doctor seemed very professional and focused to me. She answered all my questions with brief, "nothing more nothing less" style answers. I didn't take it personal because, 1, she answered ALL my questions politely and respectfully. 2, She's busy and I understand that, 3, I'm not there for small talk, and she isn't either. I'm sure outside her job she's as wonderful as she is as a Doctor, but at the clinic she's super focused and dedicated. Which made me feel that I'm in good hands. Doctor visits are usually uncomfortable, and patients expect empathy. Lots of doctors use small talk and joke around to make the patient feel relaxed. But many doctors don't, and it shouldn't matter, because you're there for their knowledge and competence. If you're reading about Dr Esther, and came across my comment, go for the appointment, I highly recommend her.
If you're reading this review, you've probably been referred to Dr. Park and, like I did, you've Googled her. I read the reviews too and almost cancelled my appointment. I'm glad I didn't. I was in Dr. Park's care for a little over a year. From my first visit, she was brutally honest, focused and direct - letting me know the next steps wouldn't be easy and that I had a big decision to make. Long story short, Dr. Park changed my life and gave me my life back. Together with her secretary Danielle, who is an absolute delight, they run an efficient, clean and welcoming office. I'll end by saying: If it seems like Dr. Park is in a rush... she is. She's a doctor. But if you have a question or concern...ask it! I promise you she cares.
