I had to take my elderly dog for an emergency visit at 2am and sadly had to put her down. The staff were extremely compassionate and caring and treated my sweet girl with so much love and compassion. The vet was very gentle with me as well, thoroughly explaining everything with tact and so much kindness good bedside manner. Even though they were busy, they didn’t rush anything with us. They let me stay with her in the back for as long as I wanted and even after she took her last breath they talked to her and treated her so carefully. I got her cremated with a beautiful urn and requested her little nose prints as well which turned out perfectly and just the way I remember her sweet little snout. A couple weeks after her passing I received the most beautiful card signed by all the staff, with thoughtful handwritten notes not just quick signatures. It was truly comforting. I know all vets are costly and I believe this is the going rate, but my bill came to $700 for an assessment 18 lb dog, vitals, IV and euthanasia, and private cremation with engraved urn they don’t charge any extra for 24 hour emergency services… but just a heads up if you have to make the painstaking decision to have to do this with your pet, just be prepared for the bill like I said though, I’m sure this is probably pretty average pricing… I just haven’t had to euthanize a pet in years so wasn’t mentally prepared for a large vet bill to say bye to my little girl. If I recall it was only about $150 more get her privately cremated and custom urn. Overall, as horrible as the situation is, I believe they made it as peaceful, gentle and loving as they could possibly be. The lady at the front desk had the most gentle and compassionate voice when explaining everything, it was so unbelievably comforting giving the situation
We went to this vet hospital after our 14 year old dog was attacked and her lower lip ripped open. The vet examined her and told us that he would do stitches and give her pain meds. An hour and a half later they told us that they weren’t going to do the stitches as it was cosmetic and they had other dogs to take care of. I would have been fine if they had told us this from the beginning so that after the trauma of the attack she didn’t have to sit in a crate with other barking dogs for an hour and a half. Her wounds weren’t cleaned she still had the blood all over her neck and face. Also when I asked if they had given her pain medication they said that they did through IV but I should start the pain pills right away. I don’t think they even gave her the iv because there was no bandage or shaving done on her! I know that this is done every time there are IV’s or bloodwork! I think that they lied about the pain medication. When we arrived home she was in so much pain she could hardly walk and so dehydrated but could barely drink because of the injury.nWe made an appointment with her regular vet for proper care.
When I rushed him in sick and terrified, they would only do blood work and a ultrasound — and then immediately pushed for euthanasia. No deeper testing, no real effort to find answers. Just: “He won’t make it, put him down.”nnThey placed me in the euthanasia room for HOURS while I sat there desperately giving my dog oxygen and praying he would fight through. Every couple of hours, someone would come in — not to offer real help, not to try anything new — but only to take his rectal temperature and heart rate then remind me again that euthanasia was “the best option.” Imagine sitting there, terrified, feeling pressured to end your dog’s life while he was still trying to hang on.nnWhen I refused to give up, I was told to sign paperwork saying I was “going against medical advice” just to bring him home alive. I was even told it would take a miracle for my dog to survive. And now, unbelievably, they are threatening me with neglect because I didn’t follow their reckless recommendation.nnHere’s the truth: my dog IS recovering. That “miracle” they dismissed is happening before my eyes. If I had listened to them, he would already be gone — needlessly.nnWARNING TO ALL PET OWNERS: Do NOT trust Paramount Vet Hospital with your animals. They gave up on my dog without even trying, pressured me for hours to euthanize him, and then tried to shame and intimidate me afterward. If they tell you euthanasia is the only option, PLEASE get a second opinion. It may save your pet’s life.nnBelow is my dog at the vet and the second photo is 24 hours later.nCant say how thankfull i am that i didnt euthanize him.
A month ago, I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat paramount 24 hour animal hospital. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, but the staff were incredibly gentle, compassionate, and respectful throughout the entire process.nnToday, a month later, I received a handwritten condolence card from them. I wasn’t expecting it, but it touched me deeply. It reminded me that my dragon was not just another patient to them—she was truly cared for, even after she was gone.nnThank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for honoring the love we had for our pet. It meant more than I can say.
HIGHLY recommend this emergency vet clinic. We had to use them a couple of times since they opened in Northland for our large dog. The staff at the front desk are welcoming and efficient. The vets we met were very thorough and took their time to patiently explain everything in detail. They are so reasonable in their fees and actually did not charge us for one visit removed a piece of wood stuck in the back of our pets mouth that we couldn't see. Everyone we've encountered have been exceptional and compassionate. The clinic itself is exceptionally clean and beautiful.
