I made a lot of memories at this school, and had some amazing teachers. However, teachers would not stay for very long and sometimes not even stay the whole year. They did not have proficient funding, and we hardly had any extra curriculars. From people who still go there, I have heard that paramount has just gone downhill from there. there are still amazing teachers there and an amazing community, but the school as a whole was not good.

I can't even explain, it's been a roller coaster. I'm Destiny Trainer and I have attended PCA since Kindergarten, currently in Seventh Grade. I had just switched schools to Parchment on Thursday last week, and it's been better than the whole years combined I've been there. Let's start out with the Dress-code. Dress-code has gotten more strict and strict as the eyes can see. Currently, the dress code is Solid Navy Blue, White, Or Black buttoned up Collared Polos, tucked into the waistline of your pants (which isn't self confidence boosting, at all.) No hoodies, no pants or shirts that have logos, sports brands, different colors, or bands on the legs or arms. Khaki Pants and Black pants, no jeans, jeggings, just Khaki and Black pants. Shorts are for Khakis, too. They had just taken away the right to wear certain things on certain days, so basically it looks like a prison. I absolutely hated going to school in a black shirt and black pants, it made me look boring and honestly disgusting. I'm overweight, there is NO WAY I am going to tuck in my black shirt, no way. My mom had to convince the principal and the staff to let me not tuck in my shirt. The dean would constantly get on me too, which I don't appreciate. I have cried so hard over this school, conferences this year were a wreck. Open gym, no private time to communicate with your teachers. Just in a gym aware people can hear you. The test scores have dropped majorly, I'm surprised people are still even in this school. Math class was a struggle. The teacher admitted she didn't know how to control the kids, throwing paper airplanes in her class. Which is understandable, but when you're a witness to the problem and it's not your job to fix what's happening in the classroom, who are you counting on? The teacher. The teacher. Not in that case. This is going to be all over the place, so I'm sorry in advance. The lunch is horrible. Beans look days old and are in that solid consistency. Fruit cups are frozen and taste waterlogged. Pizza's cheese won't stick to the actual pizza. It tastes disgusting. School lunch is served on an orange tray usually with either the main dish, the fruit cup, chocolate milk (either white or chocolate) and rarely orange juice. Many kids would go hungry because they didn't like the lunch, you can't blame them. Even teachers don't like it. I mean, come on. It's food. I don't get why they needed busing. They say safety is their top priority but I didn't feel safe in that school at all. There were people fighting, two kids drawing blood on one another in the cramped middle school hallway, a gym fight with two girls from my class. All of the good teachers left. There were only two teachers I liked from the whole middle school. Fifth grade I believe was in the middle school hallway, too. Music sub, looks about in his early 70's, late 60's, danced with two 'bad' girls in the room and allowed them to put on Kardi B, Kodak Yellow and he would listen to it in a humorous way. I don't like listening to (lets say female and male contact in a certain way) rap topicked songs. I just don't like it. Staff lied to my dad's face about what goes on. I was one of the best, most educated scholars, I still am.(was.) I have never gotten an award there my life, but---- the ignorant, disobeying, cursing, threatening people do? Doesn't make sense! They're awarding student's behaviors that don't deserve getting awarded on. On my last day; may I add I've been there since kindergarten, same office ladies; they told me I couldn't go in to say bye to my teachers or classmates because they didn't want me to disrupt the 'learning process.' There's obviously a screaming class next to them, don't they hear? There's no learning going on. In all, I DO NOT recommend your child going here. Unless they'd like to fit in with the un-wanting-education kids. It's been tough. I'm so glad I switched to parchment. The dean didn't even bother to say bye to me. Adios.

i went this school for 3 years 3-6. i HATE it the school lied to my parents about having securuity cameras! the teachers were nice but we didnt get much done. in 6th grade in math i had a d- because of my teacher now im in linden grove and i have an a+ in math. at linden grove there much more opportunies for students. in choir at paramount we just sang one song and i had know ides what ech note was and if i was saprano or alto. there was alot of students with problems and anger issues and the teachers had no idea what to do with them. at one point there was a boy in class and he was acting up. after asking him a couple times for him to stop yelling they prosided to drag him out of the class room on his desk.

I went here for 8 years. Paramount was a good school for a long time. However, all of this changed in about 2015.The school really went downhill. We had teachers quit every month and there were substitutes almost every day. As a result, I learned little to nothing. The social studies teacher just taught us about Constantinople every day. Don't send your child here if you want them to have a good education.

I was very happy with this school when my daughter went to Middle School there. It actually bumped her ahead of her peers from regular KPS (Kalamazoo Public Schools) by the time she entered a KPS High School. I was very concerned with bullying that goes on in public schools, but Paramount has a high focus on accountability for one's actions, hence, why the school stresses high morals and academics. They want to see their students achieve. Parents and kids choose a school like this, because there is less distractions in the classroom which leads to more learning time. I thought a few things could change, but it's mostly a problem with all schools in America. I don't like the time limits for lunch, too short. I only had a few issues with certain staff members, some were resolved and one not. I guess you can't have it all. But overall, I am thoroughly satisfied with this school.
