"Previously known as Panda Buffet, New Panda Buffet opened on September 11, 2020, under the new ownership and management. While remaining a Chinese buffet style, many upgrading works have been conduncted, including new renovations, upgraded dishes and completely new items. Chinese style BBQ was introduced as well by our recently hired chef. We are doing our best to provide our customers a cleaning environment, variety foods and superior services but affordable prices!"

Me and my friend enjoyed a relaxing lunch here. : I love the soup, shrimp, fish, egg, vegetables here. It's a bit sweet, which is Cantonese style Chinese food. My favorite dessert is the coconut ones! I can not stop eating that. Music here is also super Chinese style and quiet. The price is super good and we ate all we can eat. Waitress is nice and owner is generous. Definitely will come back.
It is sooooo hot in there!!!! They have the heat cranked so that you get full quicker and feel tired, or so that you have to leave sooner because it's so hot in there! It is also very expensive! $26 for the buffet and a pop!! But the food is really pretty good and I will absolutely be going back! It's fun going there! Lol :Food: 4/5
Decent experience. All you can eat buffet which are very few in the city if Halifax. This place offers a wide range of East Asian food. The food is good. No complaints there. The service was also very good. The staff were smiling, very polite, and always checking on its customers. I've been there approximately 4-5 times and my only criticism is that the restaurant has never been renovated. It would be nice to have the seating areas updated and cleaned as there were liquid stains on the tables and seats, peeling paint on walls and wooden seats, etc. Otherwise, you will enjoy the food and service.
It was a delight full experience We went around eve and we got good seating options and had ordered just a little but the servings were so big keep that in mind one serving can be shared by 3 easily. And they have this halal menu wow
I booked a personal space for a birthday party and customized the halal Chinese buffet. The owner was so accommodating and listened to our every needs and wants. I got to book an entire room to myself for free. The food was served hot and fresh,c it was absolutely delicious and all my guests loved the food. The service was great. Its definitely a very nice place to throw birthday parties or events at an affordable price.
I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about returning to The Panda Buffet but after seeing it had a new owner, new management and new menu, I thought I would give it chance and overall I would rate a 4.5 but will give it a 5 as the service was good, and the manager did come around to everyone's table to make sure everything was okay. In addition, everyone was asked to sanitize their hands upon entry and had sanitizer at every table. We went there well after supper hour/late evening so I need to be fair when reviewing. I did not take pictures of the food as I did not think it would be a fair reflection of what the restaurant has to offer due to being late in the evening. Even though it was late they were still bring out fresh food which was nice to see. I also like the fact that they promote only taking as much food as you can eat to reduce waste which is highlighted on a seperate sheet they give to you with the menu. Having been a former regular patron the the old Panda Buffet I can attest that it has improved from the previous owner. There are some things there from the previous menu but a lot of the dishes have been changed. Quite honestly I stopped going to the old Panda Buffet because the dishes were always the same, so I hope to see new dishes in the future. If you were a former patron of the old Panda Buffet and have not been back, you should give the New Panda Buffet another chance. We will be back!
I really liked it. It is affordable and fresh. A lot of options for vegetarians. I love it how they encourage people to take smaller portions due to world hunger. Restaurant is really clean. They may not have a huge selection but I gave them 5 stars for the price, freshness, friendly staff and they seemed to have what I wanted. Vegetarian options: Cheese wonton, Veggie fried rice egg foo tong, cucumber rolls like sushi but cucumber instead those long thin noodles
I came from Toronto and my father who lives here decided to take me here to eat as he said they had good Chinese food~ focus on the word HAD. He hasn’t been there since before the pandemic. The buffet didn’t open until 5pm~ we were still waiting for the trays to be filled up by 5:15 along with others who entered the restaurant. I also noticed the glass dividers attached to the table was filthy. Should have been cleaned. Yuck. Makes me worry about how the kitchen looks. Another thing I didn’t like was the fact that they had plastic lids on each food tray at the buffet~ each person had to touch that food tray lid to remove it before getting their food. I grabbed an egg roll, along with vegetable fried rice as they didn’t have chicken fried rice out at the buffet, a couple chicken balls, and some avocado sushi. Many items weren’t labeled what they were either. The sweet n sour sauce didn’t taste like sweet n sour sauce, when I bit into the egg roll my stomach turned immediately.. it had some yellow mushy stuff inside ~ I’ve never had an egg roll like that before.. it was pretty gross. I ended up leaving some food on my plate and didn’t finish it as I felt sick to my stomach. It was the most disgusting Chinese food I’ve ever tasted in my life. It hit us in the wallet when we left~$55 for a senior and an adult. Never again!
I remember it used to be a good restaurant with a good selection even on lunch time But over the last time so called “New Panda” got worse and worse I saw again Almost empty trays No longer seafood e.t.c Waiters again looking at clients how they struggling to find something to eat and no one cares to refill trays On your request to add food in trays no one doing this
$30 with tip included for one at the Sunday dinner buffet. Used to eat here when I went to NSCC culinary up the street. You could get a buffet lunch on Tuesday for $8. Place hasn't changed much, and the price seems in line with the rest of restaurants since I used to eat here when it was that cheap. I don't think there are any Chinese food buffets in Dartmouth and Halifax anymore, so it's mostly nostalgia for me. Basically if someone tells you that you can eat as many BBQ and Honey Garlic Pork Spareribs you need to survive for winter, you will pay $30 and you will be happy. Red bean sesame balls for dessert were great. Seaweed salad tastes the same, sushi tasted the same, beef and broccoli tastes like it's drenched in beef gravy with beef bullion crumbled on top, egg foo young was alright, fried jumbo shrimp were not great. I don't eat much of the battered food or noodle dishes but their Pork dishes are decent, the only reason to go there for me. Eat the raw shrimp, take your chances, do it I dare you lol Probably won't do this often because of the price but it's exactly as I remember. A good family restaurant, a good place to eat until you shouldn't any more. You don't need 5 plates of Ribs, but you can do it if you put your heart into it.
