The Mapu Tofu was one of the best I ever had. The Yeung Chow fried rice and the sizzling beef steak were also delicious. Too bad I was not staying for long in Halifax, I could have ordered all their menu :
The food is second to none. Fresh ingredients and so authentic. It costs about $5 extra per dish but it is well worth it. We will be back and want to try different dishes next time!
The food they make here is SO GOOD. Their steam buns are so tasty, with a subtle spice blend that complements the tender pork. Fried eggplant crisped to perfection, spices and sauces on point, definitely worth checking it out!!
Great, authentic Northern Chinese food. The lady that usually waits tables there is very personable, helpful and friendly. Prices are quite decent, although you should bank on waiting quite a while for your food. Everything made from scratch. I really like the black ear fungus.
They totally deserve such high rating on google. best Chinese restaurant in town and one of most authentic Chinese flavors you can ever find in NS. The environment is cozy and the owners are super nice. Love this place so much
They have interesting dishes on their menu. Their beef is pretty good. The reviews I read about their wait time is right. The server smiles. The floor was very sticky!
Another delicious meal at A Taste of the East! The cumin spiced lamb was outstanding, the braised pork shoulder melted in the mouth, the celery and tofu salad was a great accompaniment. Qing is so good at making her customers feel at home.
Taste is so so. And the service is bad. When we firstly sat down, we told the waiter that we wanted water, and long time later nobody gave us water. Then we told another waitress for serval times, and finally she gave us water!
Closest to authentic chinese I find in Halifax. Must try here! It is very tasty!
