Painters Hall Bistro

2nd time returning to this restaurant. Unassuming front entrance but food is top-notch! Their prix-fixe menu had a great selection and their charcuterie board and curry mussels were amazing. The mains were also very delicious though I believe a little too greasy. Waitress was busy and service was a little slower but food is definitely worth coming.

Amazing local cuisine except the kangaroo, am wondering where the local kangaroo farm is LOL served in an intimate dining setting. Very accommodating staff, well prepared dishes, with good portion sizes. Definitely will come again next time we're in town!

This place is easily one of Barrie’s best restaurants hands down and although the environment is fantatasic, you can always take some to go. This is exactly what I did last Friday night. After a long work week my friend and I really didn’t feel like cooking and we certainly didn’t feel like going out. Stopping in on the way home and grabbing an artisan pasta dish for her and their renown beef short rib for me ensured we didn’t have to compromise. I would highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you owe it to yourself to go.

Went there for hubby's birthday and Barrielicious. Food was amazing, great service. Happy to have discovered this little gem. Will sure go back

Wonderful experience. Looking forward to going back. Cozy place with a great atmosphere. Original brick walls inside, antique wood flooring, etc. Had the soup of the day - squash with chipotle - delicious! Main was the braised beef short rib with risotto. Incredibly tender and perfectly flavourful. Our server recommended a glass of Shiraz which was perfect. Had some nice conversation with our server during our visit as well - he made it extra-special!

Nicely designed interiors. Very inviting. Great service. The food was also very nice. Overall it was a nice experience.

My partner and I went to Painters Hall. We have been there a couple of times in the past. The food was the best ever! We got a shared charcuterie board and it was AMAZING! I will be coming back for the board. Service and the atmosphere were great! We will be coming back. *Most Parking is free after 5pm on weekdays and weekends always free*

Ridiculously good. We ordered the sharing platter and the muscles as appetizers, and my family and I couldn't stop saying, "oh my god!" as we ate them. Also, when we were there, there was a big wedding party going on, but our waiter and the kitchen staff were still on point! Our waiter, Thomas, was extremely friendly and helpful. Every single thing we ate was phenomenal. Totally worth the drive!
