Conveniently located in/ close to Byward market. Simple menu. With daily specials at $12.95, you shouldn’t go wrong. Walked in close to 11 pm on a week day and there was a line of people making their orders. Although there were seats available , tables were not cleaned nor sanitized in between. Bathroom was marked out of order. Food order was quick but no attention being paid to spiciness of the order despite the fact it was on the order slip. And the staff would not tell the difference. The portion was not large , in fact rather compact. But salade was rather tasting. However the rice was too dry and even with the sauce it was not great. Hence 4* rating.
I am a university student that ordered a Chicken Shawarma platter at 1 am, AND WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THIS FOOD HIT THE SPOT, this was one of the best meals I’ve had other than my moms cooking. And the portion size was crazy, best think to eat before an all-nighter Definitely will be getting again at 1 am. For the best delivery experience, ask them to put the fries and meat in different containers.
The Good: location is very convenient & open late. There is also ample amount of seating available. Chicken Sandwich was really tasty. I did ask for little spicy but it was considerably spicy. However, overall satisfied with the sandwich. Service was adequate. The Bad: fries very bland. Dont provide any knapkins.
Shawarma was good but a little too soaky. The staff got our orders wrong. This was the real downside. Tables were not get good cleaning between customers. This does not mean cleanliness was that bad, but it could be better.Food: 4/5
Walked in to order. Asked for a mild platter on rice and got spicy on fries. Chicken wasn’t that crispy either. Greek salad was almost completely dry.
Update on 25th Jan: After a month I have ordered again, but no improvement of service. I have ordered one large Chicken on the Stix, but 20% of the box is empty . Picture attached. I was given 4 star earlier, but now changing to 1 star. Now a days the quantity of meat is very less in every item. I have ordered via uber eats, I did take away by myself. But in last one month I have seen they are providing very less quantity of meat in every item compared to their previous quantity. Special if you go during lunch time, there was some female stuff they have, they are not willing to put sufficient amount of meat on the item. I was very found of their food & used to take food from them 2 or 3 times a week. Now I am going to avoid them.
Long wait time. Store feels like we are in streets of India as all the employees are talking in their own language, no proper customer service. I wish they used gloves while preparing food. FYI I’m also from India but it didn’t feel good while I’m at the store. Owner needs to look up for some native employees to make the store feel good.
If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would! We placed an order through skip the dishes last night only for our driver to go twice, waiting 20+ minutes and then have to leave as they could not get our food. We called the restaurant three times each time getting a different answer. First, our food was sitting there ready to go just needed someone to pick it up so another driver goes to get it and again waits 15+ minutes and leaves so we call back and are told your food isn't ready so just wait we've already been waiting 1.5 hours at this point so we wait a little longer still nothing call back and they pass the phone from person to person laughing as they do it giving us absolutely no answers and the proceed to hang up on us. We waited a total of 2 hours and by that point we no longer wanted to wait nor did we want the food from somewhere that so evidently takes no care in the service they provide. We reached out to skip the dishes for a full refund and we will never ever eat here and we will tell everyone we know to not eat here when traveling to Ottawa.
Took 30+ minutes to get takeout this evening. The person behind the counter was moving incredibly slow for the amount of people they had waiting. We have eaten here before and it seems like their meat quality has gone down significantly, the beef in our order tonight was much fattier and tougher than what we are used too.
I really like their food. It's fresh, delicious, and they give good portions. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. My only complain is that their store could be a little more cleaner. It feels greasy inside the restaurant but I'm not really surprised because it's downtown and there is a lot of foot traffic. I would still recommend but mostly for takeout lol
