All of my experiences have been positive. Sometimes there is a brief wait to be checked in, but nothing extraordinary, in my opinion. When calling, there is a long wait, but once answered, the staff has been pleasant and helpful. I’ve had two joint replacements and the experience on both occasions was positive. Having read other reviews, I get the feeling that you just can’t make everybody happy. You reap what you sow.

My NOT pleasant experience at OADC On January 5, 2018 I experienced trauma to my knee. I went to Northern Dutchess Hospital ER. I was seen right away, was given an x-ray, immobilization brace, crutches, script for Naproxen and assigned a Dr. at Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County (OADC) (Andrew Stewart). Monday, January 8, I went to Orthopedic Associates walk in center in Kingston. I was seen right away, issued a Premier support brace and scheduled for an MRI January 18 pending my insurance approval. Wednesday, January 10, I followed up with my insurance company to make sure I could schedule the MRI. They had not received the request. I called OADC and had to leave a message. Which was never returned. Thursday, January 11, I followed up with my insurance company again and they had not yet received the request. I called OADC again and had to leave a message. Which was never returned. Friday, January 12, I signed a HIPPA release and sent a friend over to the Kingston office. He was there 10 minutes and I was able to schedule the MRI for Monday January 15. Monday, January 15 I had the MRI at 9 am. The MRI was performed and the Tech took the MRI device off my knee and left the MRI room. I assumed I was done so I got dressed and went to the office where the Tech was and asked if I could go. Without looking up I was waved on with a yes you are all done. Tuesday, January 16, the Rhinebeck office called about an incomplete HIPPA release form. I advised them the form was accepted at the Kingston office on the 12th and my friend was able to discuss my MRI and get the records processed. Saturday, January 20, I went to the Kingston office to see if my MRI results were in. I was advised I needed to complete a records release form. I was in disbelief. Why wasn't I offered this form when I got the MRI or went to the walk-in at the facility. I completed the form. Thursday, January 25, I received a call that my MRI results were in. My wife went to the facility in Kingston and retrieved the CD and MRI report. I called the office for an appointment with Dr. Stewart, which was scheduled promptly for Monday, January 29, at 9 am. Monday, January 29, while waiting, I observed two other people scheduled for a 9:15 am appoint with Dr. Stewart. At 9:25 I was escorted to the patient room. At 9:27 a Tech took my vitals and said the Dr. would be right with me. At 9:59 I went to reception, identified myself, said I was waiting for an hour and asked they advise Dr. Steward that I would be looking for a new Dr. Reception looked at me and said, "OK" I then called and scheduled an appointment with Westchester Medical Center AND the Bone & Joint Center of Albany Medical Center. I'm waiting to see if anyone calls about me walking out of the appointment, however, I'm guessing NOT

After three visits to this 'assembly line' orthopedic center, I am convinced they exist only for the almighty dollar and are not interested in helping anyone with their medical problems. The first visit was for an issue with left hip pain and we were put with an arm doctor. He said "I can't help you, you will have to reschedule." Lost a day of work... The second visit for the same left hip pain, they x-rayed the RIGHT hip... We left with no help. Not even an apology from the staff. Lost another day of work... The third visit was for right elbow problems and they had us down for the LEFT elbow! We had called ahead to be SURE we were seeing the right Dr for the correct body part, and were assured that all was well. When the Dr walked in he said " this is a New York City problem, I can't help you". No exam, no x-ray, no nothing! Did not even look at the elbow. He then throws the paperwork on the table and zips out of the room. Another lost day of work... I don't believe I will ever go back or recommend that anyone else go there either.

Disorganized, paperwork mixups, inter-office miscommunication, zero compassion, placebo xrays, rude staff. As a result of their negligence and ineptitude I endured additional days of agony, loss of wages, and needless humilition. Avoid at all costs.

I've seen Dr Maurer. He's compassionate and knowledgeable. Complete exam. X-rays. MRI if needed. At this location. Physical therapy is here too. Some wonderful therapists.
