Story

Optique Town is an upscale, warm and inviting boutique located in downtown Montreal. The store is owned and managed by Robert Marie, a certified Optician and Optical Engineer who graduated from McGill's mechanical engineering in 1985. Robert was born into the optical field as his father was an internationally renowned pioneer in contact lens manufacturing, materials, and contact lens fitting. They worked closely together to help develop the contact lens industry that exists for all of us today.

With over 30 years of experience, Robert and the Optique Town team provide the full range of eye care profesional services (eye exams, contact lenses). They offer a large selection of authentic designer eyeglasses and sunglasses with the possibility of custom orders on models you are looking for.

At Optique Town, it will be their pleasure to be the eyecare provider for you, your family, and your friends.

I was able to book an appointment for an eye exam very quickly next day appointment. I found the appointment was very thorough. They were well-staffed and everyone was very friendly. I didn't feel pressured at all to purchase glasses there and was easily given my prescription at the end of the appointment. Overall, I would recommend!
This was my first experience at the Optique Town. I was able to make appointment very quickly. And eye exam from Dr. He was very nice and knowledgeable , He took a lot of time and showed me pictures that he took of my eyes and explained everything to me one by one . Definitely recommend .
I don't recommend this examination center at all. I was not happy with the service I received. Upon my arrival, I mentioned to the secretory front desk that I also need the distance between my eyes to be measured apart from eye examination. They told me that I have to tell this to the Dr. I mentioned that and Dr. referred me to the front desk. As soon as they noticed I am not going to buy the frame and glass from them, they treated me very badly and did not measure my eye's distance. Honestly, I felt very much cheated there.
Dr. Wooten, the optometrist, is respectable; however, the man behind the counter overcharged me for a pair of contacts and lied about the manufacturer.
I really do not recommend this place, as I found the owner incredibly rude to deal with. I had an eye exam here for my glasses in October, and later in December, I wanted to get my contacts prescription as well. In the past two times that I went here, they converted the glasses prescription into one for contacts. Now, I fully understand that it's in the owner's interest to maximize profits, so it's not ideal that I wanted to order contacts online. However, in terms of convenience, it's easier for me to order myself and collect reward points if I use clearly contacts, since I don't have to walk 25 minutes to the clinic to pick up. In any case, he was extremely pushy on the phone. He wanted to know WHY I did not want to order from him, and he was very reticent on giving me the contacts prescription. At one point, he even said "what are you talking about?" when I was explaining that I need a valid prescription to order contacts myself, since I will also need that for insurance purposes. Overall, I found the entire experience to be unpleasant and unprofessional. I understand again, that it's hard with the pandemic, but I don't think I am morally obligated or should be treated in this way to buy my contacts from the same place that I had my eye exam.
Would not recommend! They broke my glasses and did not want to take responsibility. They blamed it on the quality of my glasses. My frame is from Haffmans & Neumeister.
Always great and friendly service. Personable style recommendations for glasses from the owner and have been ordering my contacts through them for years; they make it easy and efficient.
The staff here make it easy for you... Fast, friendly eye exam from Dr Wooten. She takes the time to explain your prescription too. Trendy frames in all price tiers. There's something for every budget. There are student discounts too. Quick delivery of my glasses. They can even ship them if you need that, for a small fee. Hassle free and easy experience. Would recommend :
Great place with wonderful staff and customer service. Discounts available for students only 70$ for the eye exam! Amazing team, especially Helene who is super friendly and helpful and gives excellent advice as well as Robert the owner who really took the time to answer all my questions and went above and beyond to get the information I was looking for. Dr. Wootten was also very nice and knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable as soon as I met her. Definitely recommend!
I went there to renew an old contact lenses Rx. and was very impressed by the efficiency of staff and their knowledge. Great service, good prices comparable to other downtown shops. Apparently, they are also good at dealing with student discounts through Universities and with insurance claims. Edit: 28-Nov-2016 They also do price match from Clearly Contacts. Yes yes! Goodbye clearly contacts. After ordering Friday, I had my contacts Tuesday. They leven threw in a free extra pair on contacts just in case my order had a problem. A+ customer care. 2020: still all true. Amazing service. Their optometrist Steve is also very pleasant. 5/5 recommended
