Absolutely delicious sushi!! Was so happy I was able to eat here on my last day in Prince Rupert. The staff are lovely and friendly, the sushi is the best I've had in such a long time and the building is just so cute and cozy. Would highly recommend stopping in!
Everything is super fresh. The salmon sashimi is wild and much flavorful compared to many other restaurants I have tried. The portion size may appear small but the quality definitely makes up for it and makes you feel more satisfied with the meal.
Friendly staff, easy to order. Worst ebi sunomono I’ve ever had, along with the gomea. Tasted like some poorer water all over it before serving. Flavourless, and looked to be a day or two old… def not made fresh to order. Rolls were nice. Atmosphere was beautiful.
Went to Opa Sushi on August 27th as I had a craving. Small place so I would recommend getting a reservation. They didn't have any free tables so I asked if I could order to go and they were happy to help. While I ordered a table became free and they asked if I wanted to stay I of course said yes and asked that they add an order of Miso Soup too. Food was served quick and it was fresh. Will go back when I'm again out on the coast.
Great sushi experience. Don't let the price scare you, if you come with a big appetite you'll have a wonderful time in this small restaurant.Food: 5/5
The sushi was delicious and we had a great dinner. We were able to get a table without a reservation despite it being fairly busy. It was fairly busy when we were there so the service was fairly slow. Understandable, however given the small size of the place it was pretty hard to get the attention of the server when we needed something.
Ver nice and relaxed. Friendly staff. Sushi was excellent, I enjoyed the patio retreat at the back. Wheelchair accessibility: No access, it is upstairs in the two story building.
Unfortunately this place was very expensive and nothing was very good. We paid $9.95 for Chicken Kaarage and it was about half a chicken thigh of meat. I ordered an ebi sunomono and the noodles were frozen to the bottom of the bowl, so obviously not fresh. The rolls were mediocre at best, very little rice on the outside and kind of mushed together and the crab inside was very dry. Honestly for the price, and the quality you’re better off learning how to make it at home. It was around $68 dollars for dinner for 2 people, no drinks. And the menu prices are wrong. Everything is $1-2 dollars more. Tasted like sushi made by someone who has never eaten sushi.
this use to be my go to place to eat and for small celebrations but they have gone down hill in the last year or so. they never answer their phone; i called at 8:15 for 1 roll and 1 cone and she took my order and then said the kitchen was closed, even tho it says they close at 9pm. i can understand if i called right before 9 but 45 mins before closing ? change your hours of operation if you’re going to turn away loyal customers 45 mins before closing.
We are regular to the Opa. Food is great here, but very disappointed by the girl taking orders over the phone. It is very hard to give her the order. You have to repeat 3-4 times every time. I stopped ordering and prefer to order somewhere else.
