Stopped in just before 7pm on Dec 6 to pick up a platter on my way home. Do this quite frequently as I have enjoyed the food and do crave it every once in a while. I have to say please do not stop just before they close as they were in the process of shutting down. When I got home and opened the container my first thought was when did they start serving mashed potatoes? The rice, I believe it was was the bottom of the vat, there was no grains to it and was mushy and all stuck together, no flavour as well. They gave me a lot but they cleaned out the rice vat, had 2 bites and dumped the rest. Also on the salad, I know lettuce is getting expensive but honestly they gave me 5 bite size pieces of romaine and lots of tomatoes. There were a limited amount of very small red onions and cucumber. Was the smallest greek salad I have ever received previously. Also not 1 olive, scratched my head on that one. Chicken was over overcooked as it was taken out of the warmer but it did tase good.
I ordered "feel good Falafel". It was one of the most delicious Falafel that I had. Try it for sure.
I usually order from the other locations and decided to give this one a try. I ordered two falafel pitas because we both don’t eat meat. We received one falafel and the other chicken, so one of us didn’t get to eat and our meal was thrown out and wasted. The bag said prepared by “Andy” and funny enough it even included that he “checked for accuracy” he definitely did not. I called the store and they said they can’t do anything about it I’ve worked in food and usually when we mess up that badly we have someone deliver the right order to fix our mistake, we had to just get a refund from skip, but we had already waited 1hour for that food just for one of us to have to go hungry, very bad customer service, also embarrassing they check off for accuracy while sending two vegetarians a chicken pita. I will never order from this one again. Pick any other OPA in the city.
This is my first time trying OPA! And I have to say it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The gyro meat was hard and crispy, also I ordered a Greek salad and basically got 90% onion and the tzatziki tasted off, the only thing that was good was the fries. The price of the pita meal is ridiculous for the portions you get. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
The calamari is very bad from here. Go to Stonebridge location instead for that. Portion is tiny, it’s not even crispy and it takes like rotten fish. Lost my appetite for it. The pita wrap however is very good. The guy who took my order got pretty rude when I was trying to specify what I wanted on the wrap. I had a feeling I would regret going to this location over the Stonebridge one.
Very tasty dishes. Mediterranean flavor. Fresh ingredients. Professional staff. Good experience in general. Familiar atmosphere.
Usually it's really good, opa platter tonight came with mostly rice and one raw potato.
So very disappointed in our pitas today usually they are really a good place to go . Our chicken pita we horrible, it was like eating the pita and no meat no vegetables barely so disappointing the quality of food has gone way down. Asked for Lettuce on my wrap and had may be 2 little pieces Will not be going there again for the price not worth having. Save your money
This is for both locations on 51st street and on 8th street. The people working the register taking orders must hate their job. No smile or any kind of facial expression at all. Just made me and who ever I was with feel awkward and uncomfortable. Tired of people type of attitude towards me and other customers that were ahead and before. Like I don't need a parade when I go in. Just be happy you are working and take the order instead of making me feel like I interrupted your break. That is the only reason I never went back since two years ago. First on 8th street, second and third times on 51st hoping it will get better. Nope, same service every time. I think this food is the most delicious and I hate that I can't bring myself to go back in to order or online just because of the awful experiences. Hopefully things changed I want to try the food again.
food is always good, and served in a timely manor. staff usually very kind, just hard to communicate with occasionally. when you buy a wrap it would be nice to get a lot more than 2 or 3 peices of meat. for the price you pay, k dont want to pay that for bread and diced vegetables.
