What a wonderful surprise to find this restaurant in North Loop! I’ve wanted to find some great Hawaiian food in the area for a long time, and they went above and beyond! Had some amazing loco moco with spam, because obviously and the mac salad and kalua pork was delicious! Before I finished my meal I was already thinking about the next time I could come back! Highly recommended!!!
I love this place. The katsu and BBQ chicken combo comes with rice and a scoop of Mac salad which is super creamy and delicious. It's enough to feed two people at a very affordable price. I always look forward to exploring their menu. All their sauces are really good, my personal favorite is the soy honey mustard.
Pretty decent food with fair pricing. Out of what we ordered, my favorite was the poke. Not on the same level - in terms of flavor as what I got in Hawaii.
It's not often that you're served food that looks EXACTLY as pictured online, but with Onos, you get what you see. We got there early on a Saturday and the food was served fast. The pork and the teriyaki chicken stood out to us-- the katsu was well made but nothing special I thought the Mac salad was a little bland, but the sauces saved the day with spectacular flavor. The servings are generous for the price point; it would be easy for 2 to share a meal. Cool venue and worth a visit; it definitely made me nostalgic for another trip to Hawaii.
This is one of my go-to dinner spots in the north loop at the galley! I usually get the regular Katsu plate but the tuna poke is also really good. Katsu curry is okay - there is a little too much curry for my taste / it’s more of a heavy meal, but if you’re starving, that might be a better choice. The Mac salad is my favorite side here - it’s SO good and I usually get an extra side of it to take home and eat later for next day lunch. Service is great - super quick and efficient and the prices are solid for the large portions that you get.
Sister in law was in town and we wanted something new. Decided to change it up with Katsu that I enjoy. The Katsu was very crispy and juicy. My wife loves pulled pork and her Kalua pork was too her liking. My sister in law had the Poke which she enjoys and was not disappointed. Overall everything was very good and the portion size is large. Enough for leftovers! The one surprise that we all enjoyed was the Hurricane Fries. The sauce was very good. The only disappointment was that they ran out of short ribs but would still recommend eating here.
This place was amazing!! I tried the Japanese style vegetable curry and it was sooooo good!! I also tried the hurricane fries, also amazing! Also very reasonably priced! Will definitely be going back! Also shout out to Keven who made our food!! He is the best! Everyone at Ono seemed very nice!!! Also the macaroni salad was bomb!!
Food was excellent! Closest thing I could get tasting like Hawaii so we went to try it out. We ordered the chicken katsu the sauce was tangy, not a fan and kalua pork combo, garlic shrimp scrumptious and flavorful and bbq chicken combo, the fries tad on the sweeter side and the loco moco. Not disappointed at all. Food and service was great. Only thing was it's inside of the north loop, seating is limited on Friday - Saturday night 5 pm and it was loud. First time here and we brought a little one. Will try to come earlier and or on a weeknight to avoid the crowds. And - there are 3 other restaurants available.
Authentic, family owned Hawaiian DELICIOUSNESS!!! Staff is friendly & food tastes fresh. We tried the short ribs, pineapple rice, katsu chix & are definitely coming back to try the other items on the menu.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
