Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA

About

We're just a stone's throw from many famous attractions!

Story

The Olympic peninsula and Olympic National Park are among the most spectacular destinations in Washington, and Port Angeles / Sequim KOA is the perfect vantage from which to enjoy them. Explore nearby Port Angeles, Forks and La Push and take part in the "vampire tourism" of best-selling author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Ask your hosts about packages to Victoria, B.C., just a ferry ride away. Port Angeles / Sequim KOA is a destination unto itself, with loads of activities, including big-screen movies, ice cream socials and theme weekend events in July and August. And camping within the rain shadow will give you the perfect weather (not too hot or too cold), making it a destination camping experience.

This place is magical. Me and my husband opted for tent camping. We had a view of mountains, green landscape in front of our tent. Trees were surrounding the tent. One part I didn't like was that there were two cargos placed from a distance of say 500 feet from our tent which felt like it's getting in the way of the beautiful scenery. Overall the place is calm nice and beautiful.

I was disappointed with my campsite. The website advertised a full hookup site with trees and landscaping, but the reality was quite different. See pictures, below. I had a site that was nothing more than a gravel parking lot with hookups. I was told at the office "sorry, it's been too wet to finish our landscaping." When I asked about availability for a better site, I was told none were available. Of course, you pay in advance, so I was stuck for an entire week. I wasn't able to enjoy outside space at all, not only because my site was awful, but also because we were placed directly across from the camper of one of the camp employees who had a dog that barked out the window every time we stepped outside. I understand this was a new section and maybe not complete yet, but this operator needs to be honest about what they are offering and price it accordingly. This was the worst $47 per night camp-site I've ever had!

In love with this KOA! The owners are such great people; so friendly and always available if you need them. They put a lot of thought into the campground and are very conscientious of cleanliness and aesthetic. Also the most dog friendly KOA I've been to!

A beautiful location for the family. Something for everyone here. Even some tent sites have electrical power. Lots of room for those with RV's as well. They even have a few cabins that you can rent. Only problem we had was we wished the tent site we had was away from the area nearest the highway. We could hear it all to well as we tried to fall asleep at night. Yet over all its a beautiful location.

The location was convenient. Camp grounds seemed to be ready to accommodate anything from basic tent, to cabin, to monster RV land fortress. Bathrooms were kept clean and staff was extra friendly. On the weekend there were actives for the family and my kids loved it. I think this will be our base camp for exploring that part of Washington in the future.
