This place just keeps getting better and better! The ladies at the deli/take out side are SO nice and always make the best and freshest subs. Ask for a spicy Italian sandwich with the works, I promise you it’s one of the better sandwiches I’ve ever had. 10/10 service and food. Along with the bakery section, I’m always cautious about peanuts and nuts in my baked goods and cookies but the lady working there informed me that they don’t have any cookies with peanuts or nuts in them so, another 5 stars there! Can’t speak more highly of this place, definitely recommend.
Always super fast and super fresh. Tuna wrap and Italian wedding soup are my favorite. Tons of differ choice. Are an deli for your visit to Guelph.
I have been wanting to try this place for a while, having seen their daily specials especially perogies on facebook. We were out for a family hike, and decided to stop at the Old Fashioned Deli afterward for a late lunch. What a disappointment! We entered with big smiles on our faces, and were greeted by a sour faced blond woman who never smiled the entire time. It made the visit miserable. She spoke about 3 words to us. It was like we were a burden to her, coming in to spend money. Food was fine, expensive for 3 sandwiches. There WAS another dark haired woman working there who was actually very nice, but the experience with the front counter woman was horrible. Just horrible. Never ever again will I go there. We’d been having a great day and that encounter ruined it for us. P.s. there are no washrooms, so you have to go next door to the bakery and ask to be let into the washroom there, through the kitchen. Terrible setup Parking: Parking is free out front.
I have been coming here for years and the food and ladies are amazing. You have to try the dill pickle soup it's the best! But then again I have not had a soup I didn't like from here!
I went in to buy mushroom soup. I wanted the large which was hugely expensive at $10.00. I took it to go. I opened and gave it a try at home. It was the worse mushroom soup I have ever tasted. It was running, one or two mushrooms. That was not the worse of it. It tasted like it was going bad. It had an acidity and tardy taste. It took me half an hour to make it home and that soup was simply disgusting. I would never ever eat there.
Really good soilless. We had dill pickle soup. A vegetable soup with chicken stock and a hint of dill. Delicious
Great tasting sandwiches, freshly made and served right! I had the tuna salad on whole wheat bread and it was quite delicious, with lots of flavour, soft bread and topped with the freshest veggies. Prompt, friendly service does not hurt either. Serving sizes could be a tad larger given the pricing but on the whole, this beats almost any other establishment in the area for fresh sandwiches!
We had catering done for a family event and the food was AMAZING. Tiziana from Old Time Deli made the food not just how we asked for it but with even a better touch than we had imagined. As we are vegetarian, she was very respectful of our request to make sure there was no meat contact with the food. The fettucine alfredo, the 4-cheese tortellini and the veggie lasagna were even better than what we have eaten at fine Italian restaurants but at a very very reasonable price. The garlic bread was also heavenly! We had family and friends ask for her info as they also want catering done for their events. Our own family has been raving about how the good the food was for days now!! Tiziana was so enthusiastic to help us and a complete pleasure to deal with. Our family would HIGHLY RECOMMEND her and Old Time Deli!!
Absolutely the best and freshest food!!!! The sandwiches are delicious , so fresh and extremely tasty. The soups are all home-made. This is my go-to spot at least once a week. Service is professional and very welcoming. If you’re in the Guelph area you MUST give it a go.
Love the fresh tasting soups and sandwiches. My favourite soup is the Cream of Tomato topped with some of their delicious croutons. The multigrain bread is my favourite....thick cut and moist which compliments the sandwiches really well. Service is always fast and friendly. A must try!
