These 2 stars in reviews actually it could be less than 1 if we can put 0, underlines how big the problem is...causing serious issues to people living in Geneva. Never answering emails or phone, 0 help from reception about an application status went there 2 times, only delays...Paying for the residence attestation, that is supposed to arrive within 5 days, is a joke...2 weeks after I have no news.
I'm being generous by giving one star. I attended 3 times the place to change my canton, staff were very rude to me and once he sent me to fill in a form for then to tell me after making the line again, that I needed more documents. Disgusting.
The staff were super friendly and very helpful. The lady at the reception was very kind and spoke very good English. The administrative support was great.
When we visit this place, we should pay attention to the name tags, job titles, the physical appearance/description of people., etc and when we write reviews, we should add such information. This will publicly name and shame them, and perhaps, might be more effective in pushing for change.
Edit: After having had my appointment here I am updating the rating to 3 stars. What I wrote below about communication still holds true it seems impossible to contact the office without physically being there but once you manage to arrive for an appointment the employees are helpful, friendly and competent. No email to contact. A phone number exists but after ringing for a few seconds the call always automatically hangs up.
I had the worst experience in administration in all my life. I had to call 3 differents number but no one answer ever, need at least 20 try over 15 days to get someone, who is telling you tu call another number again and again. When you finally get someone, they are extremely condescent and NOT helpful this is the worst experiene you could expect
I’ve never had THAT EXTREMELY bad experience with an administration office in my whole life. Via phone, I was told that <I’m waisting their time for having too many questions>, was rudely interrupted multiple times, I heard that ‘clearly I don’t understand anything’ after the lady consistently wasn’t answering my questions, she gave me a really strong impression that I’m not worthy her time throughout the whole call. After I politely asked why she behaved in such matter, she started repeating <thank you> every time I was trying to say something, with intention of ending our conversation immediately.
worst experience ever!!! The front desk lady was very impatient and with very bad attitude, not sure what happened to her today but it was the worst experience ever
Extremely rude security guy, who almost sent my wife and son back home « because he couldnt find the appointment in their system ». However, 100% sure we made the reservation correctly. Was not helpful at all, did not show any sign of problem solving. Luckily my wife didn’t accept this and managed to get the appointment after many discussions. The lady at the counter was very friendly though.
Unhelpful and doesn't even try to be. I visited the office three times now for the same reason - I have applied for a departure certificate a month ago and I have not received it yet even though I am leaving the country in two days. But putting this aside, I was appalled by the service today Wednesday, 8 December, visited at 8h30~9h00 rendered by the gentleman in the front service box in the appointment /rendez vous section. He told me that I should visit the website and make an appointment, which I followed but was stuck since the website offered did not offer such a function for non-Swiss nationals. When I asked for clarification, he said he does not know anything about the website which he initially provided then told me that I should stop speaking to him given that he has a busy day. Somewhat shocked, I asked him again if I am allowed to speak to him, and he said "No" and called down the next person in line. I have hard time believing that thusbis the standard of service for public officials in Geneva. Residents of Geneva do and should expect more.
