Quait little place to grab some icecream treats or even dine in and have a good meal. Very friendly staff
The special that day included cod fish with fries. So, we had pan fried cod fresh and tasty with fries fresh but a bit bland, garlic bread ok and calamari tasty and fresh . Sauces they came with were ok not something extraordinary. We enjoyed the meal and found the price reasonable. You could see ocean from the window. Location wise the place is great. Restaurant was very clean and the service was great as well.
This restaurant goes hand-in-parcel with a set of amazing cottages. The restaurant is very clean, spacious, bright, and inviting. However, the menu has "far far" too many items to choose from which can be overwhelming when attempting to decide on a meal. The waitress was relatively knowledgeable but reserved with details. Our meals were served to our table too fast for comfort. The turkey, roast beef, vegetables and gravy were all frozen and thawed in the microwave. If that wasn't enough, the meats were freezer-burned. The fries were good. I would highly recommend their cabins, but not the restaurant.
The location is great with lots of parking. I had the hot turkey sandwich and it was really good. The fish we found out was from frozen and a lot of the condiments are store bought which takes away from it a bit tartar sauce, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, etc. The place was very quiet but the service was extremely slow and inattentive. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes and the place seemed clean, although there were quite a few flies inside.
Delicious traditional Newfounland restaurant meals such as Hot Roast Beef and Hot Turkey Sandwiches with dressing and gravy, and of course a fabulous Fish n Chips all with homemade fries. Enjoy your meal while watching the ocean through a window or from the screened in patio. Affordable, downhome cooking next door to Oceanview cabins that are also pet-friendly!
This was a cute spot for a family dinner. They had amazing entertainment by a local, Jason Ryan. He was fabulous! Music was so amazing it made my meal amazing. I wanted the cod and fries but they were all out of fish. I had the nachos, they were ok, kids had mozza sticks and fries, they loved it. Also others with us had the hot turkey sandwich was good, club sandwich was meh. Burger was good also! A view to die for here as well. But Jason Ryan! You were awesome! A time to remember!
Stayed here some 12 years back...was great, Then it went downhill couple years after that. Now we haven't stayed last 10years....but last month the food, service and place in general right back up top....see u for a few lunch/dinners next year 2023
I'm giving this place a three because the food was relatively good though I won't return. We ordered a cod burger and calamari and turkey sandwich. It took over 45 minutes to receive our adequate food! There were only five other diners. In hindsight we should have inquired as to how much longer thirty minutes in but I was too polite.
Really disappointed we chose this restaurant for our Bonavista meal. The batter on the cod wasn’t the good stuff you get around the bay. It wasn’t even cooked properly. Soggy on one side and rubbery on top? I wakes in and asked if they served wedgies and she said yes. When they arrived at the table…. They were French fries with a different batter. Anyone from Newfoundland knows what wedgies look like….. these were not them! They weren’t even a ‘wedge!’ Calamari rings ended up being the babies with the eyes…. Yuck! The batter was gross again….. Kids ordered appetizer boxes and the amount on menu was bot what they got AND everything was undercooked. Mozzarella sticks were frozen inside. Fries were pasty white with no crisp. Ugh this place was disgusting and it costed us $60 for food we threw out when we left the restaurant. We drove to the lighthouse and then came back around and as we drove by we all saw people in the parking lot and we were yelling ‘don’t go in there! Save your money and get better food somewhere else!
Excellent view, patio, service and food!! Highly recommend!!
