The Court Referees and Family Counselors who work at the Oakland County Friend of the Court are not reasonable nor willing to listen to reason, even when evidence is provided to them. Every experience I had working through my divorce and afterward has been unjust. I filed motions in order to get heard and plead my cases, but the only results i got was bad rulings in court, and disrespected by FOC reps on many occasions. What makes it worse, walking out of court, I end up loosing thousands of dollars on a case that was to be easily won in my favor. The whole system needs to be revisited and all those working need to be replaced with people who can be far, moral and just. Oh I did not mention that my ex-wife is the spawn of the devil. If you knew who I am as a person, you would not judge me. I got the short end of the stick almost $100K into it. Plus paying a wrong full child support amount that I can do nothing about since the ex is cheating almost every government party

Katie Weston is so rude and does not try to help at all. She's lazy. Also waits until someone is dead to call back. They let all deadbeat convincing "father" off the hook all the time. Everything is file a motion. You have to file a motion for them to tell a dumbass that they can't get your child at 10am during school. What kind of sense is that? They need to fire all the people there and bring in new people. Not people who only care about having a job. You're not in our daily lives, you're not the parent, you don't have a say.

Absolutely the WORST organization ever. I tried to get my child support transferred out of state for over a YEAR and kept getting the run around. Had my case worker call, then the supervisor call and still was told " you have to have ------------handle this" Never returned calls to my case worker and for three of them I was sitting in the same office!!!!! Literally will do nothing to help, I finally received a call from my " case worker " at Oakland county who stated she was " doing me a favor and that, my mail was returned and no one from my state ever called her" oh and to top it off my child support is now " in closure " nice how they screw me over right at the beginning of the month! Super rude, condescending, do not care one bit about issues with your ex and always send you to the " automated system" which is zero help. Stay away if at all possible !!!!

They will write recommendations based on here say and false accusations. Referee bolton cannot even transcribe my RECORDED testimony correct? really? unbelievable. i had to take an assessment at the cost of $225, was never used but court orderd! gee i wonder if i will get that money back from them? I guess if your ex claims certain things, the court takes there word for it, hmm wonder if it works the other way around, no we all know how this system works. Word to the wise, never object to there recommendations, i mean there ONE recommendation they will throw there arms up and give up. Really? Take my advice dad's , don't push back, as ludicrous as you think there recommendation is, take it from me. It just makes there job harder and they will penalize you for making them do anymore then they have to. I objected to there recommendation and they decided to temporarily suspend my parenting time? again, our tax dollars at work. if i could give a negative 5 rating i would. Worst experience of my life to say the least. better off to work something out between you and your ex then to use foc. GIve yourselves a pat on the back, job well done in screwing up peoples lives and kids, what do they care? they do not, are self serving and that is the extent of it. The whole system is only geared towards collecting child support oh but that they can enforce, imagine that . 20 parenting complaints, and excuse after excuse> 1 time was it ordered that makeup time to be done, and again it never happened, why? because my ex-wife seems to make up all the rules. . Update sept. 12, once again oakland county wasted mine and everyones elses time, had ample time to review documents and postponed evidentiary hearing for 2 more months!!!! Meanwhile still not seeing my kids, my ex wife is and has been calling the shots oakland county cares nothing about what they do, peoples lives or how they affect them at all. i have been told half truths and left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. its a mess and ludicrous. here is a dad fighting to see his kids and pays over 1100 in support, yet my ex alienates my kids from me and NOTHING is done.

The folks who work at the Oakland County Friend of the Court do a thankless job in enforcing orders for parenting time and child support. They deserve praise, not criticism for their efforts. I am a family law attorney who has represented equal numbers of men and women from all economic levels for over 30 years. People are don't realize how fortunate they are to have the FOC services.
