Oak Electric Service

Recently due to a house fire.Oak has replaced our AC, Boiler, tankless hot water heater and did some plumbing within our house. They did an exceptional job in all areas. The staff at Oak have been very considerate and professional is every way. A special thanks to Chris who made everything come together. Our Generac 11K was installed April 25, 2017 by a three man crew from Oak Electric, Waterford, MI. They did a great job -- neat, efficient, friendly. I thought "now that we have a standby generator we probably won't have a power outage for 10 years." I was wrong. A week later we were out for three hours. We were out for dinner when it occurred, but returned home to garage doors that opened and a nice, warm home. Everything worked perfectly. Then a week after that we were out for another hour. This time my wife was home to experience the automatic switch over. She was impressed and happy.

We are very pleased with the work that was done. The Master electrician that came by for the initial visit was excellent in making recommendations given our home's unusual wiring. During the install, I came home and the generator was not placed exactly where I wanted it, about 2 feet off. I express my concern and they moved it without complaint. The final work was clean and we are pleased with the results. They even made it possible to upgrade the system later to expand our capacity at a later date, without extra cost. Our home is old and has had multiple additions, so it was not a straightforward install. I was recommend by a neighbor to use them, and I have now done the same.

I was a bit concerned that adding a generator would cause a "tacked on" look with obvious cables and piping running across my basement ceiling, but I was very pleased with the job Oak Electric did. I didn't like the idea of them making a T on my gas service which is near my front door, so they did the work inside the wall where it doesn't show. They also carefully routed the gas and cabling through the ceiling joists such that they are hard to notice. Travis and his crew took off their shoes each time they entered my house, and kept me informed as to when the gas and power would be affected. I do not hesitate to recommend Oak Electric, and expect to call them back for other electrical work.

Generator install went smooth.. they had to run a gas line from one end of the basement to the other. Was able to be done without making any holes in the drywall ceiling! They do the yearly maintenance.. very efficient.
